Looking great. I'm watching this one. You have made me dig mine out and put the few parts together that don't require painting yet. I think that I am going to paint mine Galaxy gray. If not, I may be doing it in Mica Blue also. Later-

What did you see on the road today?

I haven't seen an amphibicar since I was a kid. There used to be one that I would see crossing the Columbia River at Howard Amon park in Richland, Wa. I always liked seeing it. Later- -

Glad to see that you are back on this one. I need to find one of these to build in a similar style. I love the stance and the engine work. Keep it up. Later-

Great build. Nice work on the body kit. And the paint and lights are killer. Nice job for the first in 10 years. Later-

Thanks anyway. I'll probably just black them out with styrene. Nice looking build. Later-

Wow! I love it. That took some real talent there! Great job. It looks like it is straight out of the magazine. Later-

Looking great, but before you get too far along I was wondering if I could pay you to cast me copies of the headlight parts. I have this kit but it is missing some parts. It's been a while since I looked and I don't remember if it is the headlight buckets or the lenses. If interested, shoot me a PM. Later-

That color combo turned out fantastic. I like it very much. Nicely done. Later-

I'm still feverishly working on this every chance I get. I primed the front body the other day after spending a good 4 hours doing filling and sanding. As the pic shows I am still not much closer to paint. As I was looking at it, I noticed that the fender area ahead of the driver's wheel sloped towards the rear. So this morning I took a small pie shaped slice out of it and glued it straight. Great. More bodywork. That body character line is giving me fits to get it smooth, but it's getting there. I also began painting the frame and chassis and rear axle. It will be a dark Emerald green and the body will be Catalina Mist Satin with Emerald scallops. I know...I know... Lovely photos. But I had to show you that I am moving forward. I have also been working a bit on the interior. I have no idea what the interior of the Voodoo Creeper is so I am using my artistic license in this area. I have made room for an AMT 55 Chevy dash and the rest will be minor modified or stock 51 Fleetline pieces. Later-

I saw this Camaro in a parking lot a couple of days ago. I'm wondering what changes the H/O package includes. I was driving into town this morning and noticed the Willys grille through the window so I had to go around the block. I'm glad I did. A 43? Willys. This one is a nice "in progress" pickup. A nicely restored 40 Ford. A digger. And these out back. I'd take it ALL!!! Later- -
Buying ugly buildups
Modlbldr replied to ChrisPflug's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Some of my recent acquisitions: Given to me by a good friend who built all of these when new. Found at a flea market for cheap. I thought the steering wheel and separate head rests were strange. In the batch I also got an old Chevelle painted dark brown and a Mustang racecar. Maybe pics of them later. Later- -

Great. Thanks for the info. That is what I had in mind. I have been slowly working on a 41 Chevy pickup in a very similar style and paint job so the info is a great help. Later- -

Very nice detail work and photos. I like the detail in the interior door pulls. Fantastic. Later- -
What a beautiful build you did. I like everything about it and I like the idea of the silver decals in the interior for the window tracks. I will have to remember that. Later-

Very beautiful paint job. I love it. Can you describe the sandwich bag effect? Did you wad it up and pat the surface of the wet paint with it or did you lay it over the wet paint and then pull it up? Later- -

Beautiful paint work. Makes me think of the paint job I want to accomplish on my 41 Chevy pickup, but in shades of blue. Later- -
Interesting build so far. Curious to see how it will look. Are you interested in trading off the 64 Caddy front bumper and grille? If so, PM me. Later-

Thanks guys for the comments. Yeah, the upper a arms took the better part of 4 hours just in building and test fitting. But I like how they look. Going to need some bit of detail since the whole front end tilts (or will when I'm finished) forward. I also managed to pick up a can of Krylon Catalina Mist Satin paint for the main body color. That is the same color that one of the other builders on this sight used on his "Voodoo Psychosis" build. I think it will be a great match for the 1:1 primary paint color. I'll try the scallops in a dark metallic green. Later-
