Still looking great. Still making me want to finish mine. I pulled it out the other day and no change. The top is still taped off. Later-

Mercury Capri SVT (A Mustang of a different sort)

That's looking good. I think you made the right choice on the wheels. They suit the car nicely. Later- -
This one may sound crazy, but I want to see the Monogram 79 Indy Pace Car reissued. I had it when it was new and after a few years I gave the kit to a friend who wanted it. Since then the kit seems to either go for crazy prices or I miss out. I have two Mustangs that I was acquainted with back then that I want to do models of. That kit and too many others. Later-

I stopped by my LHS on the way home tonight and found this on the shelf as a consignment for $5. All there, so I couldn't pass it up. They also had the AMT 59 Vette for the same price but I could do without it. Later-

I was refering to the small block In the 5 window. I have not been able to find a dual carb intake. Thanks for the info on R& M of MD. I was going to call them today. Now I have parts numbers. On a side note, what the heck happened to my photos. They are not sized right any more. They were not like that the other day. Later-

Beautiful job. Nice color combo too. It's great to see a build of something different once in a while. Later-

I have the Flintstone resin. That's why I stopped to look in the first place. Later- -

Funny thing about this is that I took all of those pics and oogled a Grabber Blue 70 Mustang Mach 1 for close to 45 minutes and nobody talked to me at all. That was a first for me. Later- -
Where Were You in '62? World's Fair, Perhaps??

I was still 7 years from daylight, but I went to EXPO 86 in Vancouver. As a 17 year old I was amazed by the Pontiac Banshee and other futuristic cars. Seems to me there was also a Corvette concept with the Banshee. I also remember looking at the Highway 86 display and thinking "Huh?????" "That's cool, I guess." Later- -
Nice work so far. I remember grinding out the back of that grille about 20 years ago. Not hard to do. The 41 Chevy grille I just did a couple of months ago was a BEAR! Are you scratchbuilding the bed and boom? I had reference pics years ago of a similar set up on a 51 Chevy in Alaska. I should have built it. Nice project. I'll be watching. Later-

Possible new idea?

Charlie and Ace- Thanks for all of the interest. I really think that a straight eight would look best in here. I don't know what the Auburn had as far as looks and parts count from the kit. I'll PM you, Ace for the engines. I'll have to look and see what Ken has available. As far as wheel and stance goes, I was just thinking last night about starting on the chassis and suspension. I'm not sure what I will be using but it will probably come from my large parts box. I'd better start digging. Later- -
Possible new idea?

Got a bit done tonight. I chopped the top with a bit of rake. I cleaned up the holes in the cab and after trying a few times unsuccessfully to fill in the sides of the hood to mate up with the fenders I cut the hood sides off. I cut them with a curve to follow the shape of the fenders. Lastly I began the work of connecting the fenders together under the grille. It is going to be a chore , but I am going to make my own grille. I tried the grille from the Wagonrod kit out of curiosity. Not even close. I bought some thin steel rod yesterday. I may try using that with some brass strips. We will see. Later- -
That is going to be cool! I will be watching this build. Later-

Spent some time last night working on this. I am planning to use the V8 engine from the Revell 32 five window but I can't find a dual carb intake to fit it. Anyone know of one that will fit? I reworked the seat pattern to replicate the one in the mag. It was a slow progress night last night. Later-

Charlie- The more I look at that Graham supercharger the more I like that idea. I had planned some sort of straight eight in it since the bay is so long and narrow. I wanted to find one for trade (the Auburn Speedster is the only one that comes to mind in kit form). Perhaps I can scratchbuild a close approximation to the supercharger from those pictures you shared. Thanks. Anyone have any leads on a straight eight or have a built up Auburn that they want to swap? I have been trying to fill in all of the gaps in the fit between the hood and fenders and I have the gash at the rear of the cab roughly filled in so far. Later- -
That Lago may be a bad kit but you can't beat the box art. Too cool. Later-

Nice work so far. I remember when you were working on this last. That TS-11 looks like it would be the perfect color for my 40 Ford I'm working on. Later-

I got the suspension adjusted today. It will sit just a hair lower once it is glued. Right now the gaps in the chassis and floor aren't tight. I also got a quick coat of primer on to check the work. Later-

Duntov- Thanks for the great comment. I'd be excited if it was compared to the Matranga Merc. In my opinion there is no better looking car from that time period. Later-

I like that one too, Erik. But, then again, I always liked the 67-70 body styles much more than the Bandit body style. Later- -

Doug- Not a bad idea with the front wrap around. I like that look. I really wanted the front fenders to be very pronounced. I also am sure there will be a chop top with a slight rake. Last night I did a little work on filling the gaps in the hood. We will see where this one goes. Later- -

I am pretty sure that they are Auburn fenders. As I was looking at them last night I could see the exhaust holes had been plugged. That idea of the lobster tail sounds funny. I had also thought last night that the fenders looked like claws. Thanks for the comments guys. I'm not sure how much steady progress I will make on this. It just started on a whim. Later-
