Dominik- Nice looking quick build. I love the surface rust on the body. Very understated. How did you do the rusting on the chrome? Later-

Patrick- Your photos are a bit blurry but from what I can see it looks like a clean build. Do you have a macro setting on your camera? That will help. How did your foil work turn out? I really like the Boss 429 and would love to see some clearer shots of your build. Keep up the work. BTW- I used to live in N. Arkansas around Harrison. Later-

Great double swaps. I agree that the Cougar looks much better. Sure wish I'd have thought of this before I got rid of my Cougar. Later-

Wow! Only one reply so far. You guys are going to hurt my feelers! At least Randy loves me. LOL! I stayed home sick from work today (first time in a LOONG time) and just completed a lengthy job resume and application on line. Someone have any bullets for this gun?? I think I've earned a few hours at the bench. I'm going to see how my two engine choices look and fit in the bay and do some more work on the suspension. More photos of progress later tonight. Later-

Mark- That engine work looks great so far. Got any photos of the kit box? I'm curious what kit this is. Later- -
Sad Day
Modlbldr replied to RustedBronco's topic in 1:1 Reference Photos: Auto Shows, Personal vehicles (Cars and Trucks)
Sad day indeed. Sorry to see that. Looks like your making progress on the rebuild though. I bet that's not cheap. Later- -
David- Nice build. I love the green and black combo. I think it would look really nice with white decals (maybe two sets together to prevent the bleed through). The paint detail on the wheels really makes it for me. I saw this kit at the LHS today and remembered your build (I looked at it yesterday). I thought yours looks much better than the box art cars. I have drilled eight individual holes and I have drilled one large hole to glue all of the wires in and there isn't much difference. I always make boots of slightly larger black wire to run the wires into first. It adds a bit more realism and helps to hide the drilled hole or holes. Later-

Nice work so far on a couple of unusual projects. Where did you get the 53 Woodie and how much, if any, clean up work do you have into it so far? Later-

Daniel- Welcome back to the hobby. Your Dart looks ready to fly! Your work is nice and clean. The only criticisms are the two already listed and to sand the lettering off of the chassis under the rear axle next time. You picked a winner to do for your first build back. I love this kit. Your Chrysler VK is pretty killer too. Later-

Chris- That's looking good for your third chop. It has just the right look. I'm in the middle of customizing a 50 Ford myself, along with a few other projects. Keep it going! Later-

Mild custom '70 Boss 429. My best work ever! *Update! 2-8-12*
Modlbldr replied to '08SEAL's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Looking great! The Boss 429 is one of my favorites. I built this kit years ago (1984, I believe) in my teens. Can't wait to try it again along with the Boss 302. Keep it up. It's some nice work you're doing. Later- -
Since I had sectioned the body, the interior just fit but left no room for the chassis. So I decided since I'm lazy and I thought it would look good, I cut the front and rear suspension away from the chassis and now the car will have a chassis pan with a faux chassis. The engine is either going to be out of the 99 Cobra Mustang or the 99 Ford Lightning. My biggest hurdle now is that the built up rear axle from the 06 Mustang is too wide. I had to tear it all apart and narrow it. The wheels are a two piece concoction from the parts box with shallow fronts and slightly deeper rears with low pro tires. The stance will be just right when I'm finished. I hope you enjoy this and, like all of my projects, this will be a slow build. I'm over 6 months into this so far. Later-

Here is another project that I have been working on between 3 other projects. I get to a point on one when I have to let things dry or I'm waiting for the right day to paint, so I switch back and forth. These are the first photos of this project I've posted and I am excited about finishing this.....as I am with all of them. This is the Lindberg 53 Ford Vicky kit that I added a roof from the 66 Mustang kit to. I opened up the side windows for hardtop look. I also sectioned the body of the Vicky and pancaked and leaned back the front of the hood a bit to make it more modern looking. I think that it has a nice look to it. I also am adding the interior and chassis from an old 06 Mustang that I had done the chassis work to and painted the body. Then during my move in 2007 something happened to the Mustang body that ruined it. So, it is a good use of some parts that I had already painted and assembled. More to come... Later-

Man, you can't go wrong with a model like that. Ain't nuthin' lackin' when you're Cadillacin'! I'll be watching this one for sure. Later-

NICE!! I wouldn't figure those colors would work well together, but they do. I love the fading in the paint. Keep it up. Later-

Frank- That is amazing work on a kit that is such a piece! I'm sure you know what I mean. I had two of them given to me years ago and the detail was so bad that I thought it was only good for a replica of a fiberglass drag car body. So I used the second kit to stretch the body behind the front wheel wells. That's as far as I got!! Yours is going to look great. Later-

Jonathan- Great job so far. I really like that interior. Nice mix of colors and parts. That front definitely needs lowered a bit. The build is looking good so far. One question though. What are thos white wheels in the photo from? They look like some that I need for a build. Later-

Beautiful paint job. Keep it up. Later-

Dave- That IS a nice one. I feel you. Where does the time go?? I remember my brother and I building many different kits when we were kits(53 Vette, 55 Ford Panel, some van with Kangaroo decals and two of the Monogram Classics series that we got for Christmas from my grandparents were among a few of them) Glad to see this one is still in your possession. It'll be nice to see it done....again! Later-
