  1. I think the Bronco spare tire mount on the tailgate is odd, along with all of the other problems with the pic. Maybe that's why the bed is sagging in the rear. Too much weight on the tailgate. Later-
  2. Yeah, good score. Sam's right. I stopped into Goodwill here a couple of years ago and asked about the lack of kits. They told me that they huck them if they are opened. I left the manager with my name and number (TWICE) and told her that I would make a deal for anything that was opened or parts kits. I've never heard a word from her. How disappointing to think that they are going in the trash. BTW- SAM, Now you have to split any finds with me!!!! Later-
  3. I did the same thing with my 66 Mustang and the "Hippo Jaws" clamped down on the roof of the car and chunked out a bit of the paint all the way to the bare plastic. Just like in the 1:1 world, it's enough to ruin your day. What ever you do, don't call the insurance company. They'll jack your rates up! Sorry to hear it happened. Later-
  4. It doesn't sound like you need it but Lindberg also did a convertible pace car. They ARE great kits. Later-
  5. Darin- That work is great!! I love the look of it. The stance is perfect. I may steal some of your ideas on this one. Later-
  6. I think you should use the grille from the Auburn Boattail Speedster. Sounds like you have it worked out though. Got any photos of the grille now? Later-
  7. Matti- Looks good! I always liked that kit but never built it. What color did you paint the body? Later-
  8. Darrin- THAT'S Funny! Loved it. Especially the sling shot. Later-
  9. Great builds guys! I'm still chomping at the bit to get my hands on a couple of these. Later-
  10. Does anyone just sell the wheels from the Peterbuilt kit? I'd hate to get a whole kit to use the wheels. Later-
  11. Justin- Your work on this is looking good. The repairs you made to the sink marks on that wheel turned out just fine. Sounds like you have plenty of reference photos to work from. Keep up the fine work. Later-
  12. Sheesh!! That wasn't fun. But it's done. Now to let it sit for tonight. Then I'll Cut them all down even and paint them. I also got the rear package tray cut out so that I can put in some P.E. speaker grilles. That's it for tonight. Time to spend some quality time with my wife. Later-
  13. Looks great so far Mark. That 3-N-1 build sounds like it would be fun. Kind of what I'm in the process of now. Body of the 53 Vicky, top of a 66 Mustang and chassis and interior of a 06 Mustang. Engine block is a Polar Lights NASCAR 427. Fun project. Keep up the progress. Later-
  14. Thanks for the comments guys. I've got a bit of progress done between filling out job applications. I'd rather have a good tooth pulled....and I haven't got many of them left! LOL. Anywho.... Here is the tranny tunnel back in. Hopefully it's up far enough. If not, I'm doing surgery on the tranny because it's going to have a belly pan covering it anyway. Here is the intake tubes half done. Should be enough room now for eight tubes. And they look more to scale to me now that they are started. Once I get all eight installed and they have dried rock hard I'll cut the tops to length. I may need to readjust the second one in this picture. It's sitting a bit high. I am only gluing the tubes to one another. Then as a unit I'll pull them off of the manifold cover and paint them silver. Manifold cover will be the same color as the engine block (custom mix metallic green????) As always, comments criticisms and all welcomed. I've got tough skin!! Later-
  15. Keep it up. Let's see some progress. Moving is very tough on models. I lost an 06 Mustang custom in my move in 2007. Later-
  16. Nice job so far. This is going to be a great project. Don't let it fall to the wayside. Keep up the great work. Later-
  17. John- I'm glad that you didn't go with the rolled pans and custom front and rear. This car has such a beautiful stock look when it is lowered. Want proof? Look at your photos from post #9 and #10. Especially the photo from straight on in the front. My favorite1:1 build of this car is the white and blue car that was done by Gambino Customs. Here's a link. http://www.hubgarage.com/mygarage/Gambino_Kustoms/vehicles/9370 Keep up the great work on this one. Later-
  18. I'm back at the table tonight to get a bit more done. However, my plan is fighting me. Does anyone see a problem with this? That's right. There's not enough room for eight tubes. AARRGG! I didn't want to do it but I'm gonna have to drop down to 3/32 tubing. It may scale out more correctly (haven't bothered to check) but it isn't the same size as the holes on the chromed manifold. So I scratch built a new manifold and I am going with the 3/32 tubing for round two. I also cut out the tranny hump and am in the process of raising it a bit for tranny clearance. Got it glued back in and letting it dry for the night. Nothing exciting but it is progress. Now, off to bed. Later-
  19. I like the first one too, but I hope that you are going to cap the ends of it. Love the progress so far and those wheels look great. Later-
  20. Now why didn't I think of that? Fantastic build all around. I love everything about it. Later-
  21. Peter- This turned out beautiful! Nice custom modifications and paint work. I'm still slowly plugging away on mine. It's a custom, but a modern custom. Whatagreat kit this 53 is. Later-
  22. Then we blew them up with firecrackers or set them on fire! ...Or our parents threw them out when we left home. THAT'S the End of story! Later-
  23. Eric- No. I haven't been building in my shop. I spend enough time outside in this weather with work. Always fun to build houses when it's 9 degrees, like it was this morning. I'd love set (or two, if you could swing it) of those valve covers. The ones I have are a little dinged up from being used already. I'd like to give the second set to my buddy who gave me the set I have. Let me know what you want for them and when I can meet you in town to pick them up. Once I get the manifold finished I'll start on replacing the 06 Mustang engine bay with scratch built inner fenders. I have an aluminum 32 Ford trunk that has louvers pressed into it that I may cut up and mold the louvers into the inner fenders like the magazine car. I am going to have to narrow the front tires a hair over 1/16 inch unless I can find a narrower set in order to give me a bit more room in the engine bay. Later-
  24. Eric- I'll take a set of those, please. The ones I'm using are off of a PL Cale Yarborough NASCAR kit. I'll get with you later. Gotta go now. Later-
  25. This has been slower going than I thought. I figured I would have been done with the manifold and carbs by now. At least it is coming out as I had pictured. Here's where I'm at for the night. My engine block w/ new tranny Carbs with sectioned air cleaners. I added a plate to the bottom. And the start of the intake tubes. It's a good thing that I stopped here. I wanted to remove the molded in fuel block but forgot. Still have time to do it. Thanks for looking in. I realize I build slow but I have fun! Later-
