Looking good. It looks great as a convertible. Jeurgens(sp?) did one a while back in almost the same color. Later-

Very convincing work on the model. It turned out fantastic. It was difficult to understand the translator regarding the broken window glass. Maybe you could do a tutorial with photos of the step by step process so that we can see each step. Later-

Panel Job, Panel Job! This is looking great so far. I like the idea. Later- -
The seal of approval. It was your post that got me to look at it and ponder chopping it. So.....It's your fault! Later-

Rob- Thanks for the tip. I thought about doing that with some piano wire have. I may end up doing that if it breaks on me in the future.....which I'm sure it will. Tonight I'm going to spend some time working on a couple other projects and let this one sit till my next session. Later-

Beautiful work so far. I'll be watching. Later- -
WOW! thanks for all of the positive comments guys. Glad to see that you guys like the build. I think that the roof line looks better myself now. It's going to be a pain to keep it from continually snapping from here on out. I didn't lower it too much. I cut the roof at the top and bottom of the A pillars and laid them back a bit. Then, because the roof had previously snapped at both C pillars I used that to my advantage. I re-broke the C pillars and took almost 3/32 of length out of the allowing the whole roof to move back. Then I re-glued it all with a bit of styrene strips for support. Here it is before: And here it is now: Not too drastic, but hopefully enough difference. I just realized that I should have measured up from the top of the door to the top corner of the A pillar before I cut it to see how much of a drop I made. It doesn't look much different to me, but I know it is. A little measurement confirmation would have helped. Just need to clean it all up and hope that it stays. Comments/ Criticisms welcomed. Later-

Well, I got the top chopped a bit and I do think once it's all cleaned up it'll look much better. Maybe I'll get some pics up tomorrow after it dries and I clean it up. Later-

No turning back now. Never let it be said that I don't cave to a little peer pressure. Later-

Here is the stance that I am shooting for. Hope you enjoy it. Any comments or criticisms always welcomed. Now back to work to get the front suspension attached. Later-

Back to work on this one tonight and, like always, not making fast progress. Here's the basic interior (06 Mustang) with a bit of tweeking. I've got the edge of the dash near the windshield shaved a bit to allow the tub to snug up. I may have to do a bit more work in this area. I also raised the tunnel and filled in the tulip panel and speakers in the doors in prep for some P.E. Speaker grilles. The interior has been giving me fits trying to get it to sit right. I think I finally have it sitting where I want it. The problem with this is that my front suspension is actually going to attach to the bucket or to the firewall since I don't actually have clearance for a full frame. I'm going to do up a chassis plate to cover the bottom center section. Here are shots of the interior fit. More in next post. Later-

I have a chance to pick up a sealed one of these kits. Has anyone built one? How did it turn out? Got any photos? Just looking for any info anyone has on it. I've looked it up on line but haven't found out much on them. Later-

Chris- Nice haul. I see a few I'd like to get ahlod of there. The Black 65 Vette, 70 GTX, the silver car w/red interior in the front of the first pic, and the 56 Nomad, red 70's Chevy pickup w/black hood and the silver 72 Chevy stepside. Oh, and is that a white Dodge pickup in the first pic???? Later-

Great work! And the wheel choice fits this style perfectly. That MM Platinum is what I used on my 70 1/2 Camaro but I went with a shade darker red. Beautiful combo. Later-

I love everything about this build. Excellent job and color choice. Nice wheels too. Your photos really add to the presentation. Later-

AMT 1925 Ford Model T (first model in 10+ years)

Kirt- It's looking good so far, as are the projects in the background (Love that crew cab dually), but you have to change those spark plug wires. If you are like me you'll always wish you had. Later- -
I think the Bronco spare tire mount on the tailgate is odd, along with all of the other problems with the pic. Maybe that's why the bed is sagging in the rear. Too much weight on the tailgate. Later-

Yeah, good score. Sam's right. I stopped into Goodwill here a couple of years ago and asked about the lack of kits. They told me that they huck them if they are opened. I left the manager with my name and number (TWICE) and told her that I would make a deal for anything that was opened or parts kits. I've never heard a word from her. How disappointing to think that they are going in the trash. BTW- SAM, Now you have to split any finds with me!!!! Later-

Your in good hands with.........

I did the same thing with my 66 Mustang and the "Hippo Jaws" clamped down on the roof of the car and chunked out a bit of the paint all the way to the bare plastic. Just like in the 1:1 world, it's enough to ruin your day. What ever you do, don't call the insurance company. They'll jack your rates up! Sorry to hear it happened. Later- -

It doesn't sound like you need it but Lindberg also did a convertible pace car. They ARE great kits. Later- -
I NEED SOME FEEDBACK ON THIS BUILD
Modlbldr replied to jaymichaelsdesigns's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I think you should use the grille from the Auburn Boattail Speedster. Sounds like you have it worked out though. Got any photos of the grille now? Later- -
Matti- Looks good! I always liked that kit but never built it. What color did you paint the body? Later-
