Oh Yeah! I Love it! Later- -
This is quite an ambitious project that is turning out to look fantastic! The bodywork is so smooth you can't tell what all went into making the final product. The paint color is perfect for it. If possible though, I would love to see you spray a couple of top coats of candy blue. Later-

Those are AMAZING! I love Mr Stanford's work. He has a 70 Monte wagon that I want to do someday too. Originally, the convertible was a bit hard to find but I knew it was out there. Later-

´68 Buick Riviera Custom - John D'Agostino's Pantheon

I see what you did with the roof and it looks logical. I think it will work great! Did you figure out how much chop your method resulted in or are you just going by the look of it? Looking forward to more progress. Later- -
Earlier today I wetsanded the body again to fix a bit of orange peel. Then I resprayed a coat of blue followed by a couple of light coats of White Lightning. Tonight I hit it with a couple light coats of clear. I also got the lenses in the tail panel and grill and did a black wash. I added some white craft paint mixed with Future to make the back up lights. Later-

Thanks everyone! Now, back on the Wildcat. Got it wet sanded and painted. Next is clear! Later-

Thanks for that info. I figured it was something like that.

Yeah, when I was looking at some reference photos on-line for this build I came across that. I was also in the process of making a radio antenna for it and looked on-line to find out where it goes but never found a photo of one with an antenna. It surprised me. (Also saved me some time since I din't need to put on on the build. Lol) Later-

Thanks. Yes, Testors Fiery Orange. Later-

Thanks Guys! It was a fun build but did 5 hrs straight last night to get it finished! Later!

I entered a 7 Day Challenge on one of the FB sites. Complete an unstarted kit in 7 Days. I have always wanted to build a model of the Steve Stanford rendering of a 70 Monte Carlo convertible. No better time to do it! I added a few little things along with removing the roof. A wheel and tire change from a Cal Wheels version of some kit, a scratchbuilt convertible boot, made sun visors, and added some fine screen for the cowl intake vents. Since I did all of this I did not leave enough time to wire the engine. I did, however, work a full day hanging sheetrock today, so that cut into my building time. Here are the pics. Hope you enjoy it. Later-

Looking great! I can't wait to see what you do with it. That PE set will add a lot to it. Later-

This morning I'm actually excited about the look of this for probably the first time. I dry fit the grills in it to see what it looked like and i like the ugly thing! Still going to spray a couple of light coats of White Lightning on it to give it a pearl effect. Later-

David, This is coming along great! Your detail painting on the head looks perfect and that gold paint has just the right look. I came across this kit (a 2000's issue?) a few years back in a junk store and i passed it up. Now i realize that I should have gotten it just for the deep Cragar wheels. Later-

I have to agree with you there. I was thinking last night if it might work better to decant and thin the paint a bit then airbrush it. You just get too much from the can. Later-

I think it is interesting how plans can change on a build. Probably better said is how things progress without a plan. Tonight I taped off the roof and I painted the body in Rustoelum Satin French Blue with the thought that i will give the e tire car a couple of light coats of Testors White Lightning in a couple of days and, perhaps a few decal stripes. Now it is into the dehydrator for the model and off to bed for me. Later-

Thanks, but I have plenty. Later-

Wow! Gorgeous car and great color. I like the White lightning over a plain color. I've done it on a couple of cars. I did this 57 Wagon using a Tamiya Flat Japanese aircraft color. Turned out to be a nice pearl blue. Also did the same for the 41 Plymouth with another Tamiya Japanese Flat aircraft color and it made a nice pearl green. You may have given me a thought to do just a two tone with flats and White lightning. Thanks! Later-
