Same here. I have one of the Lindberg issues and it looks like a beautifully designed kit. Someday I need to build it since the 66 is my favorite Chevelle. Guess I need to pick up one of the AMT's Later-

Is the new AMT 66 Chevelle a rebox of the Lindberg 66 Chevelle? If so, any new additions to the box? Haven't found anything as far as info on it but saw it at the hobby shop recently. Later-

Yeah, I have several of those old Duplicolor paints in that size can. I like the colors of them but, like a lot of Testos paints their downfall was that they never printed the color on the can. I should have written the color.on them with a Sharpie. Nice color and it looks lile you're off to a great start. Later-

Thanks Mike! Bit of an update. Still picking away at the panel work. But, I sat down for a bit today and started on the details for the interior. Seats are a custom mix of purple and pearl white acrylic paints. Dash top is sprayed with the same Deep pearlescent purple as the striping. And, just as I knew would happen, the turn signal stalk got broken off and lost. I'll have to make another.

Next up on the bench is this 63 Galaxie that I have had in progress for probably 20 years. I honestly couldn't say when I started this. I lived in Alaska then and I left there in 2007 after 14 yrs. I had installed the custom grill and rear roll pan along with the tuck and roll pleats on the interior from the begining. I made a turn signal lever from the smallest diameter rod I could find at the time and added a drop of glue for a knob. That dash has been rolling around in the full box since the beginning with me digging through it and the lever is, miraculously, still in one piece! Fast forward to life in Wa state and I painted the body with Pearl White nail polish in 2015. I added the Pegasus soverigns to the mix then and lowered the suspension by drilling the axle holes an 1/8 inch higher. I also painted and built the engine at that time. Then, it got put back in the box because I wanted to do a lowrider paintjob on it but was unsure of what pattern to do and how to go about it. Fast forward to Sept 2022 and life in Kentucky. I drug it back out and I am determined to get it finished this time. I had a piece of thin foam padding on my bench and thought that it might make a good material to do something similar to a lace paint job. So, wanting to finish this project, I jumped in. I start by taping off a panel, then lightly stretch some of the foam down over the panel and tape it in place. Then I spray a couple of medium coats of Testors Deep Pearlescent Purple over the foam. I only wait about a minute before removing the foam. The paint was much lighter than I anticipated but I think the effect is better than it would be with a darker coat. Makes it look more like a marbled or lace effect. I then taped off and painted a pinstripe border around the panels. The pinstripe needs some touch up but that will be easy enough. Sorry for the novel but this model has been dying to be seen and finished for a looooong time! Stay tuned. Later-

Wpw! Amazing build! I like the more mainstream look of this one for that era. As someone mentioned, the muscle car era was over and this is what most cars looked like then. I love Avacado Gold. Although you missed it by a mile, as you said, I think the color is very nice and suits the build perfectly. Later-

It softens the color a bit and gives it a pearl effect. It is basically a light white pearl. Here are pics of before the WL and after.

Just finished this one tonight. Since I (unknowingly) started with a bagged rebuilder of a 65 body and the rest of the parts being a 66- and no instructions, none of the custom parts fit and had to be modified. I wanted to build what would look like a factory custom show car. I think I succeeded. My favorite part is the interior with a floating dash and a steering arm instead of a standard column. Paint is Rustoleum White primer for the roof and Satin French Blue for the body with Testors White Lightning over everything. Enjoy! Later-
