  1. This is turning out quite nice. I like the weathering you've done and I agree that the decals definitely add to the interior. Great idea of doing the 7 day challenge. I think all of us get bogged down in a build and they stall out, never to be finished. Many just a couple short bench sessions from completion. I did a 24 hr build challenge last year and built the GTO drag car in 17 1/2 hours. It turned out better than many of my builds that I spent months on! So, in short, "Good on ya!" Later-
  2. Here is the one I have. Had to take a screen shot from some site since mine is still packed away. This was the first one I got years ago. Later-
  3. Which version do you have? I have this stock one and a racing version. Later-
  4. Nice work on these, Guys! I have this to build someday soon. Later-
  5. I started this one tonight. I've had the racing version of this for about 20 years and have wanted to build it since I got it but never did. I got this stock version about a couple of years ago and figured since I just finished my 67 Impala now's as good a time as any! These things are tiny but when you realize this is 1/24 scale it is even more amazing how small they are. I put it next to a JF 1/25 49 Ford for comparison. I started with the engine and exhaust. Took it about as far as I could without paint. Then I scribed open the hood and trunk. This was a simple job since they were molded with nothing more than thin flash holding them in. I had to add a strip of styrene to the edge of each panel to close up the gap. I'll need to do the same on the sides of each once the glue dries. I got a late start tonight so that is it for tonight. Comments and criticisms welcomed. Later-
  6. Here is the second round of what I picked up yesterday along with the previous photo. I also got a bunch of Square Body pickup and Blazer rebuilders and a couple of Broncos. Later-
  7. Thanks everyone! Took it to its first show yesterday. It got some very nice comments in stiff competition but no trophies. Going up against guys like Vern Heizer, Ken Brickel, Jesse Talmage and Gerald Raney (or is it Haney?), I had no chance. LOL! I had a great time though. Later-
  8. Man, that looks.like it jumped right off of the box top! Nicely done. Later-
  9. Yeah, I picked it up because ive been seeing a lot of great builds of it and it's been decently painted in a nice shade of green. Looks like maybe spray a couple coats of clear and I'm good to go. Later-
  10. Went to the HipCat Hustle Car and Model show in Morehead, KY today. Great show! Met a couple of my heros and made a few new friends! These are just a small bit of what I got there. Still haven't unpacked the rest. Got the Bomex RX-7 in the mail from a FB purchase. Later-
  11. Great deal!! Wish it had been me! Later-
  12. It's the one with the finger prints on the valve covers.....Lol. Thanks guys! I'm glad this "quick" project only took 4 months! Later-
  13. Looks a lot like mine I did years ago. Surprises me that people didn't do this more often in 1:1. Later-
  14. Thanks Guys! Later-
  15. Thank you Sir! Taking it to its first show tomorrow. Later-
  16. My latest build. This had intended to be a quick interim build during my packing and moving from WA state to KY but ended up dragging out. We moved in February but just finished it earlier this week. I.like the way it turned out. I did a lot of lowering of the suspension. Made an actual chain link steering wheel and added a "patchwork quilt" elephant in the passenger seat for my wife. I made aa antenna for it out of wire and surgical tubing. I was surprised that AMT did not include a door mirror in this kit so I pieced one together using the base from a 69 Camaro (slightly modified) and the round mirror from a ZZ Top 34 Ford. I included a pic of my inspiration. I hope you enjoy the pics and feel free to comment good or bad. Later-
  17. I'm liking the idea of this. Reminds me of the roadster pickups the 1:1 guys did in the late 80's- early 90's. I really like the custom work on the grill. Later-
  18. Working on some taillights. I've been looking for a set of these forever. Guess I have to make them. I have a JF resin chopped 49 Ford that I'd like to build with these taillights. Later-
  19. Thanks Fellas! Still haven't put this Under Glass. Spent yesterday running around with my wife and I need to find a door mirror for it. There are none included in the 67 Impala kit. Later-
  20. I managed to get this finished last night. Good thing too. I'm taking it to a model show on Saturday. I need to find a door mirror for this since one was not included in the kit. I'll be posting better pics in the "Under Glass" section. Thanks for looking. Later-
  21. Trying out some ideas tonight for my 49 Merc grill. Lots of work ahead. Later-
  22. Been pecking away at this 49 Merc while waiting for things to dry on my 67 Impala. Used a custom grill from the 53 Ford for the headlight buckets. Shaved the thickness of the eyebrows to be more in scale. First pic is before the shave. Second is after. Later-
  23. Nice!! Yes, I want to see that! Later-
  24. Nice work on this. I like the different color. I think that black car in the background looks a bit like a wide body Mustang. Later-
