  1. If you need badges or logos to make decals for your model trucks and SUVs, check out www.lmctruck.com . They have online catalogs for all Chevy, GMC, and Ford trucks/truck based SUVS, as well as 1994-2008 Dodge Rams, and 1997-2006 Dakotas/Durangos. Once you find the catalog for the vehicle, just "flip" through the pages until you find the page with the emblems, and simply copy the page into a photo editing program. Here's an example of the page I was using to get 2500 emblems for the '99 Silverado kit:
  2. Not that I'm adding anything to the convo , but when I was younger I always thought there was a steel ring that was attached to the wheels over the holes. Later I found out that it was a chrome trim ring reflecting the hole and causing an edge in the middle.
  3. IF you'd rather purchase the stock Silverado, then you can still get it from here: http://www.modelroundup.com/mrcategory1034.htm Otherwise, the Custom version is still sold pretty much everywhere.
  4. Bah, then the ride height is too tall. Guess I'll have to scratchbuild me a 4WD system for it! (Actually I sent an e-mail to see what the kit looks like that Perry's Resins makes).
  5. I said the stock '99 Silverado kit, which isn't produced anymore, but still can be found online (I ordered one from Amazon recently). This kit.
  6. Alright, so you have two options (as far as I know): 1) Use the chassis from the Tahoe kit, as mentioned. Everything is set, but there probably isn't much detail. 2) Used the suspension from the Revell Stock '99 Chevy Silverado kit, since the suspension didn't change much between the two generations. There will probably be a bit of fab work, but it will be more detailed.
  7. What kit are you planning on using for the body?
  8. In this picture you can see the front differential is on the driver's side of the subframe. A solid tube runs towards the passenger side. At the frame rails, the axle powers the front wheels with a pair of half-shafts.
  9. 2WD uses coil springs and shocks* 4WD uses torsion bars and shocks* *In addition to the double a-arm arrangement. Check out these links for diagrams: 2WD 4WD
  10. Hey everyone, I'm representing probably the entire northwest corner! As it says, I'm up in Houghton (that's Houghton, not Houghton Lake!) where there's plenty of snow and lots of old people!
  11. "Muka Laka Hiki, Come on ya' wanna 'lei' me, pass the poi, mahalo"
  12. Correct. Tahoe was a trim level for the trucks and SUVs until 1992, when the full-size Tahoe was introduced. The compact Blazer had the S10 moniker until 1995 when the full-size Blazer was integrated into the Tahoe line (the S10 moniker was obviously used to distinguish the compact Blazer from the full-size).
  13. What's the scoop with the Chevy? Looks like a C10 Custom...Big 10? (is that what the sticker says on the rear of the bed?)
  14. Why does it have the GMC S15 badges? Also, it's funny how similar teens and older people are...they both love to over-accessorize their vehicles!
  15. Yeah, you haven't heard? They've offered AWD on the Charger since 2007.
  16. Well if you had any spare fire-extinguishers lying around, you could simply cut off the nozzle and handle, and voila it's ready for paint.
  17. I second that remark!
  18. No, I meant the original page which featured the pictures of the model (from the Aircraft model site).
  19. Woah! That's interesting that they found this page and not the original. Oh well I guess, at least the link to the other page is in the first post.
  20. '91-'95 looks like. Is it a Sahara? (due to full side steps and tan top) In any case, here's my DD.
  21. I believe Tamiya did back in the day, but it would be hard to find today. You could always check ebay though. I wish someone would come out with another, so I could build up my Islander!
  22. Edit, after further review, it appears to be a late 80's Daytona.
  23. That should be plenty. You can see the top details, the driver's side details, and the passenger side for the most part. The starter is on the driver's side, and the oil filter is on the passenger side coming out at about a 90 degree angle. Not sure what else there is to see.
