  1. Hey, I'm building the 1/12 GT500 and have some questions about the Mustang that I hope may be answered. 1) What is mounted to the bottom of the spare tire well? 2) Is the fuel tank mounted in front of the axle one large tank, or two separate tanks? 3) What are the four lines running along the driver's side frame rail? I know there is brakes and fuel line, but how many of each and what other lines would there be? Thanks, if I think of more, I'll ask them.
  2. It's probably a limitation with the forum software, in order to reduce the amount of bandwidth for the main forum pages. It does work when you go into your profile, however they must not allow the gifs to move on the main page.
  3. It's not a bad kit by any stretch, I hear from others who built it that it practically falls together, and I agree for the parts that I've kept kit stock. I just can't stand having a kit at this scale and having not only a static suspension, but static steering as well.
  4. Well got some more done. Chassis painted satin black and Ford Sunburst Gold Metallic, along with silver details and foiled heat shields. Added the chassis portion of the axle stabilizer bar, as well as extended the bracket for the stabilizer bar itself. Made my own lower control arms using the centers from the kit and scratchbuilt ends. Axle with lower control arm brackets added. Still have to add the stabilizer bar bracket and shock absorber brackets.
  5. Dunno about from photo sharing sites, but it says you can upload a gif from your computer.
  6. I know you already have the kit and maybe don't want to pay for something else, but I'd suggest a set of big and little (19" & 23") Pegasus wheels, since they'd be better quality and IMO would look much better, plus they come with good tires. You could then either try to fit the diecast's brakes, or get a set of Pegasus disc brakes.
  7. Hmm dunno then, when I go in it's not checked at all.
  8. Try clearing your browser cookies/cache (if you don't know how, just do a google search for it), it may be an issue of you clicking it before and it's staying that way due to the browser cache.
  9. What sort of parts were you looking for that you decided to turn to a DUB kit?
  10. Yeah, I would also think that it's just printed on. I'm guessing they decided to detail it like an actual signed copy, but of course "dubbed" out. If it were collectable, there would most likely be a plaque or card in the box that says so.
  11. Follow the steps I gave and you should have no problem.
  12. Not necessarily slander, I was just thinking more of a "timeframes may vary" sort of deal, basically saying that any resin place may take a while to have the parts made and sent. Seems like many people think that it's like a regular business, and that the parts will be out in a few weeks. Just sayin.
  13. Could one of the mods make a pinned thread about RR so these sorts of threads can be prevented?
  14. Here's a quick guide. 1: Click username in top right corner, click on "my settings" 2: Click "change my photo" 3a: Either click in the box "upload from file" and choose a photo (not sure on max size, but I'd suggest less than 750x750 pixels) 3b: or click on the box "import photo from URL" and paste in a URL of the picture from a photo sharing site. 4: click crop if you wish to move where the subject is placed, looks like you really can just move the crop box from side to side. 5: click "done" and voila, you should have an avatar.
  15. I'd say that 90% don't know how to add one.
  16. Whereas I'm the opposite. I prefer separate categories so I can more easily find what I want to look at. I know this wouldn't work as well for the Big Boyz section since it's not very popular, but every other build is a pro-street build, which I have no interest in other than to occasionally see some of the details they do. Practically every other forum I've been to uses separate categories for the builds, and it seems like it wouldn't matter if it's done here due to the aforementioned "new content" button, since it would allow those of you who want to see all builds...well, be able to see all builds. But hey, as long as pickup trucks stays separate from the rest, then I'll be fine here.
  17. Yeah, would be nice if they would rerelease these kits, and maybe add some new parts as well as a 4WD version.
  18. Fixed it for you, the Travelall was the 4-door wagon version similar to the Suburban. Build looks great, though the wheels and decals are a bit much for my taste!
  19. My WIP thread is on the first page in this forum, no pics of the body yet but I will say the paint job will be based on the '71 Mach 1.
  20. Finally got the interior finished. Mostly stock with the addition of a Hurst shifter with T-handle, front seat belts, and I painted the seats in a black and red two-tone. You can also see what the exterior color will be, Ford Cardinal Red, though I haven't done any detail painting yet.
  21. Yeah they are good trucks. I actually like the look of the airbag wheel, at least the one up to '02. Only thing that sucks is it's harder to add an aftermarket wheel. Build is looking good so far Nick, I always love replica builds since it can be interesting to see how people make parts that aren't found in kit form already.
  22. Mainly because the kit tires are usually junk. You know, I'd gladly pay a few bucks more a kit if it meant getting name brand tires. I mean, I'd be paying anyways for aftermarket stuff, and this way it would be going to the manufacturer. Plus it would mean more tires that I would want to use for other kits if I decided on aftermarket stuff anyways.
  23. Yeah the resin wheels are a 19" set of Cragar S/S style wheels. I purchased a set for my build as well. The guy who makes them also makes a bunch of other cool wheels, most for 24/25th scale.
  24. It's actually been around for a few years now. I think I mentioned it before, but nothing ever really came of it.
  25. Yeah it's happened to me as well. That's why I just made it a habit to click on "model cars magazine forum". Doesn't matter much anyways, since the "model cars" section is at the top of the page.
