  1. When the texture of the tape is transferred to the already painted surface, does that mean it was applied too early before the paint had adequate dry time?
  2. Nick: isn't that wire for the trailer wiring? (Though in real life it would come from the taillight wiring)
  3. I'd have to go with the Revell 70's Chevy van kit. The way they did the interior "tub" is a real pain, especially when the floorpan is warped. Would have been much better if they could have done the floor and "frame" as one piece (since I believe the real vans were "unibody" style) to help prevent warping, and just have the engine cover be a separate piece so you could easily install the engine. The worst part is with the warped floor, when you attach it to a straight frame it just causes the frame to bend, causing the front wheel to lift off the ground. The body is great, the chassis is great, it's just the dang interior that makes it such a sucky kit. Oh yeah, I forgot that the other issue is there are no positioning tabs, so it's a major pain to get the thing to sit in its correct spot.
  4. Would be awesome if Galaxy would start putting out some camper trailers and maybe a pickup-bed camper to go with the cool trailers they sell already.
  5. Guess I could call it a 2012 release (the auto companies would ) but Revell is going to re-release the '77 Chevy Wrecker at the end of this month.
  6. The problem I see is not so much the actual V6 used, but rather what the intake and top-of-engine looks like. Here's what the actual V6 looks like under the hood.
  7. Both are 1/25 scale, Cougar uses 302 V8 while T-bird uses supercharged V6.
  8. Just noticed on the Revell site, for those who care, they are planning on re-releasing the '77 Chevy Wrecker at the end of this month! http://www.revell.com/model-kits/trucks/85-7220.html http://www.hobbylinc.com/htm/rmx/rmx857220.htm
  9. Took the Revell 359 kit and minimized the chrome while giving it a copper/red/black paint scheme. I've also created a unit to attach to the fifth wheel in order to allow it to run in the daily driven sled pull class.
  10. Try clearing your cookies and cache and start over again, see if that helps or not.
  11. What browser do you use? I know that Firefox and Chrome asks you if you want it to autofill the name and password for you. Otherwise, why not check the box that lets you stay signed in?
  12. Wow, a General Lee car show, it's like going to a Halloween party where everyone dresses up as the same celebrity. Oh, and happy birthday Nick!
  13. Eh I still use silver paint for scripts, door handles, door locks, all the small parts that I'd have a pain BMFing. I just say that they are silver painted rather than chrome.
  14. Actually if he had the VIN we could determine whether it was factory installed or not, since the VIN includes both the model and engine installed (position 6/7 and 8 respectively).
  15. Might list the Chryslers, since I know they rebadged Dodges as Chryslers (and Plymouths as well) for sale in Canada.
  16. Actually it's not that bad. I don't usually do chrome window frames so that's not an issue for me. For everything else, it's a fine thickness. I will grant the fact that if the surface has a lot of slight height changes, then it may not sit as well as BMF would.
  17. I'm cheap so I use the chrome ductwork tape found at the local hardware store.
  18. Yeah I wouldn't be surprised if they put in a 5.0 for the export market. Heck, the Mexican 80's Monte SS came with the 350 and 4-speed manual, whereas the US version only came with a H.O. 305 and 3/4-speed auto.
  19. I also use the large spray cans, usually Krylon or Rustoleum (weird huh, but the stuff works great). For primer, I just use the cheap Walmart primer (bout a buck a can, depending on location). A large thing to remember is to use thin coats. One of the large causes of bad paint jobs is thick coats that cause the paint to pool up or not stick in the corners.
  20. Would be nice to get some of the more "mundane" kits, at least for spare parts.
  21. I just use superglue from Wally World (can't remember the brand, but the bottle has a blue label.) I also use white glue for windows/lights and for temporary fitment.
  22. I wonder why one of the companies doesn't come out with a more modern motor-home that can be attached to some of the newer truck kits.
  23. Casey: 1:1 tires are 235/75R15 which are roughly 29" in diameter and 9" wide. Got the body mounts attached and started on the leaf spring mounts.
