  1. Looking good so far Nick! When we're both done, we should make a combined post in the under glass section titled "The Lesser Known Sport Trucks".
  2. Was able to get the body, glass, and interior on the chassis as well as install the lights. I'm using the mirrors from the re-released Monogram Bronco since they're the same low-mount style used on the Nite. Still have to drum up some decals for the sides in Photoshop, complete the engine compartment, and install a few other odds and ends.
  3. Well that was with the volume of the Euro gallon. The gallon used in the US is volumetrically smaller thus our mileage is less.
  4. Thanks! It's too bad AMT didn't make a 4WD version of the F-150, since they were probably more popular than the 2WD version in real life!
  5. Body is painted and cleared! Also added side window to place window sticker.
  6. Both kits are great (Monogram and AMT) in their own ways. Which one do you have? AMT has a great front suspension assembly and has the V8/auto combo along with the nice separate hubs. Monogram has great detail elsewhere, especially with the one piece roof. Also has the V8/manual combo. Personally I prefer the Monogram kit overall just for the better fit and finish.
  7. Looks good! Love the detail you put into it. However it looks like the paint may have given you a little trouble on the edges (around the wheel flares for one). I would have painted the flares black to give a little contrast to the body as well.
  8. I've actually just pulled out the box. Gotta clear the body parts, and then start assembling.
  9. Lookin good buddy! I gotta get some motivation to start workin on the F150 again!
  10. Agree, too many modelers get in over their head and eventually mess up, causing them to just quit. However, even as a self-proclaimed good modeler I still have a hard time finishing a model, though it's more about getting bored and wanting to work on something else (which I'm sure most of the modeling population can attest to).
  11. If you don't want to use polish but want glossy, try Pledge floor wax with Future Shine, and apply it with a foam brush. Goes on smooth with just one coat, and dries to a high gloss finish. However, if you're set on the Testors, then someone else can chime in.
  12. I will add that the only diecasts I still buy are the 1/18th scale. I do have some 1/24th scale diecasts, but I don't really like them due to the lack of detail compared to a 1/24th plastic model kit that I can build myself. The 1/18th scale diecasts also offer some subjects that aren't in plastic...plus I like the larger detail.
  13. Hmm a tractor, that could be considered a really slow automobile!
  14. All this talk about diecasts not being model cars and such confuses me, I'm rebuilding a diecast (well, actually rebuilding it with parts from another ) and am doing some of the same things as I would on an all-plastic kit (minus body alterations of course). Yes they do come pre-built and pre-painted, but who says you can't build them your own way?
  15. Yeah, unfortunately when you rearrange photos, the URL changes since the folder names are included in it. Hence, you have to re-post them.
  16. I agree with that, except the one nice thing about this forum is there is a thread preview function. If you hover your mouse over the title, a little icon will appear on the right, next to where it says the thread poster. Click on it and it will show part of what the first post says.
  17. SXT is meant to be their (more or less) cheap sporty trim level (at least that's what it used to be). For example, the 1st gen Durango SXT was a basic model (whatever it was at the time), with black bumpers and fender flares, and the 31x10.5R15 wheels/tires from the SLT Plus trim level (plus I'm sure some other stuff on the inside.)
  18. I think it was a 23 footer, though I can't remember off the top of my head. It's at home right now so I can't measure it.
  19. Have one in progress, frame is done so far.
  20. I think Texas is the only state with their own "special edition" truck, the rest of us just get the "Big Horn" edition. I think Texas is one of the more popular states for trucks, so they try to market there more.
  21. You're thinking of Han, and 4 and 5 are supposed to take place before Tokyo Drift hence why he's still around.
