Today's episode was pretty good, they actually found a car that they got a good profit on.

I've been watching this for a while now, and it's not a bad show. I didn't really care for the pranking on Overhaulin, and the builds took too long on American Hot Rod. I prefer the fact that they aren't building a car for a "mark", and that they're somewhat more down to earth. Of course, the fact that they actually give some info about each car they're building, along with mentioning what the cars are that pull into the lot, certainly gives it some educational merit. Now, did anyone watch the Car Warriors show on SPEED last wednesday? That was an interesting show. If you haven't, two teams have 72 hours to build up identical cars, and the winning team keeps both cars. They don't have to worry about a budget either, which allows for better results IMO. Also, the teams are the "pros" versus the "average guys", so it gives a bit of twist.

Resin engines!!!
Jordan White replied to 75th Ranger's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
None of the three you posted are, this is the one he mentioned: http://www.megahobby.com/zl1427chevyprostockdragengine1-25rossgibsonengines.aspx -
In all seriousness though, I've never done that, nor will I ever. I don't plan on selling my builts anytime soon, nor do I really care the exact date I finished them. Good for you though that you actually do that.

03/04 SVT Cobra Engine
Jordan White replied to Iron Fist's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I think your best bet would be the engine from the SVT Lightning. You would just have to switch sides for the intake. -
I don't know...he is nice and he builds scale "softwere"!

The possibility of "No Chrome" Kits
Jordan White replied to Dragline's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Personally the only reason I'd want a chrome-less kit is because most of my builds have painted bumpers/grilles/what have you. However, I guess since most would want it, it's not a big deal to strip it off myself. -

Dodge van truck?
Jordan White replied to RodneyBad's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Should build something like this: Passenger space of a van combined with the 5th wheel hauling of a pickup. -
5 Thumbs up dude, that thing is amazing!

454SS Chevy Pickup

Looking pretty good so far. Are you going to try to get those tires to fit the wheels a bit better? I'm assuming those are the tires from the AMT F-150 kit. -
Trying to plan a build, 93 Centurion

You should get one, they are so simple to work on, and sound awesome with the right exhaust. -
Trying to plan a build, 93 Centurion
Jordan White replied to trey allen's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Haha yeah, mine is more of a street buggy, since we don't really have anywhere good to go off roading in Minnesota. It is fun to drive around up here in Michigan, but back home it mostly drives around town and to car shows! -

I think your best bet is to use a pair of front doors, preferably from the '92-'96 F-150, cut the door vertically in line with where the vent window meets the side window (keep the separation bar intact), and use some sheet styrene to fill in the front part of the door. Best thing I can think of, maybe someone else has a better idea. By the way, nice truck! I've always loved the Centurion, especially for the generation before yours, and wonder why Ford never made them from the factory! They eventually did it with the Excursion, but it would have been easy with their crew cab and the rear of the Bronco. -
How do I change my avatar pic?
Jordan White replied to oldscool's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
For me it says avatars can't be any larger than 150x150 pixels and 55kb in size, I assume it's the same for you. Basically, you have to go into either Photoshop or Paint, and simply shrink the image until it fits into those parameters. You also have to make sure you're using the correct spot to upload (one's for images off your computer, the other is using the URL of a pic online). -
TV/Movie Vehicle Community Build.......Contest

I think they stay the size you uploaded them when you first post them, but when you return to the thread they should have reduced in size, at least that's what has happened to me. -
TV/Movie Vehicle Community Build.......Contest

Yeah, it does seem a bit low still. Also, if you use the IMG tag from photobucket, the pics will show up larger. I believe the site will autosize them so that they aren't super huge though. -
1992 Ford F-150 Nite
Jordan White replied to Jordan White's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Well it's been more than a week haha, but I finally got some more done on this. I painted and assembled, the chassis, engine, and drivetrain. The kit came with some fairly small tires (better suited for the custom version), so I used the set from the AMT Explorer, since the wheels fit in perfectly. Of course, I then had to raise the suspension since it would have been too low. I found the lift pieces from the AMT Ranger fit perfect (specially since they have the same suspension setup, I only had to slightly modify the front spring/shock pieces).
