  1. Maybe he's counting his lurking presence as membership?
  2. What, you've never seen fluffy plug wires before? (My first build I "wired").
  3. Well I compared the color charts to a picture of a freshly painted Cummins and it does appear that XF67 Buff is the closest. Of course, there's always the excuse of colors being slightly different on the computer, but since both pics are on the computer, it should be fine! Edit: Just noticed that the XF colors are flat, and I want a glossy look, so the best for that is X31 Titanium Gold.
  4. Figured I could bump this up since it's good info and I have a question. What is a good paint to use to simulate the Cummins Beige, preferably in Tamiya bottle paint?
  5. Good find! Just found the order form for your suggestion stasch, and it looks like a better choice for spray painting, Steve's site is good simply because of the caution striping.
  6. Step 1: Buy a large box of sticky traps Step 2: Lay down on floor around work area Step 3: ???? Step 4: Profit!
  7. It was the USS Enterprise.
  8. Dude, what's with the blurry pic of the 'Stang?! You forgot the pics of the "Blue Flash" as well! Was definitely a fun event, with it being my first time there. Great buncha guys! Hey Ian, now that I've seen Nick's last name, gonna have to start calling him Niko (AKA Niko Bellic from GTA4), specially with his perfect accent.
  9. Certainly was a great show, especially being my first time there. Met plenty of great people and saw many fabulous builds. I didn't enter anything this year since this was a last minute event for me, but next year I plan on certainly bringing something!
  10. There's already a thread on the January issue, but I'm sure it will show up soon since others have just begun receiving theirs.
  11. Yeah, I second the Tamiya '66. It builds up as a 1300, but you could really build it up as any of the engines. I bought one recently and am going to build a model of my '69 Baja Bug.
  12. My one complaint with ebay is the whole bid-for-you system. Sure it's great if you can't get on for a few days, but it just takes the fun out of bidding (not to mention drives up the price quickly). Then of course there's the whole deal about you maybe not having as high of a max bid as the next person. You'd have a chance if the other person had to manually bid, but with auto you just throw in your max bid and if it isn't enough then it's time to move on to the next item. There is the whole deal that the other person could back out, but if they set the max bid then it's pretty sound that they probably won't back out. /rant Edit: the other thing is when people use the "or best offer" deal. If you put in the first offer and it isn't high enough for the seller, then they should show what their lowest they will take is. Heck, that's how it works in the real world!
  13. Not to be a dried tube of glue, but could you possibly turn off the caps lock please? We don't need people yelling in here.
  14. I believe the best way to do it would of course be larger brakes, and a solid front axle beam to give it a proper 4 link, like you would a truck. The less desirable way is of course lowering the A-arms, as it appears the pics I posted attempted to do (though with better fabricating).
  15. Only on the better built ones do they have any semblance of good engineering. I'm sure most are just set up like this: Perty...
  16. No Gregg, that's why we're all so angry, we keep knocking stuff off the table!
  17. Get well soon buddy! And don't be trying to paint while you're there, you don't want the nurses to get all light headed (though I'm sure you could still whittle away with your xacto knife, since the surgeon is close by! )
  18. Uh Harry, I believe he's actually talking about Unreliable Resin, so I think we're in the clear on this one.
  19. So pretty... Ahem, bubble is supposedly the term used for rounded-body vehicles, such as the early 90's Impalas/Caprices and Crown Vics.
  20. In my personal opinion, Donk and great don't go together in a sentence. Sure some may have decent suspension engineering, but most of the time they are crappy jobs, and all of the time the wheels look stupid.
  21. Looks great so far, and I certainly prefer a painted front bumper to a chrome one, which is what I did on my F-350 Dually. However, the chrome grille does look good, especially with those wheels.
  22. I just use a foam "brush" to apply it to the parts. Great thing is since there are no bristles, it provides a smooth coat as soon as it's applied.
  23. Photobucket will resize every pic to the setting you have. However, I thought the site here already had a setting to resize the pic to a certain size, and you could click on it to see the full size image...course, I generally upload my pics at the 800x600 size anyways.
