  1. Thanks, I won't get any more updates until at least saturday because I have to do a bunch of spray painting, but can't where I'm currently at.
  2. Guess I could start posting on this build here. I'm starting with the AMT F-150 Shortbox and planning on building it as a 1992 2WD with the Nite trim level. Major components of the package: Raven Black exterior with body color bumpers and grille Choice of blue or pink side stripe with Nite badging on box sides, tailgate, and dashboard, as well as Nite floormats Polished aluminum wheels and white letter tires Sport suspension on the 2WD Standard 302 V8 or optional 351 V8 Sliding rear window I'm going to make it look like it was just purchased from the dealership, which means super clean and of course a window sticker. First thing I finished was the interior. The parts were molded in a light brown plastic, so I figured it would be perfect to make a tan interior. I also had to fabricate a shift lever since the kit didn't come with one.
  3. Eh it's a little of both really!
  4. http://www.automotivetouchup.com/choosecolor/buypaint.aspx?year=2001&make=Jeep&model=Cherokee&colordesc=Steel+Blue+Prl%2C+PBQ%2C+No%2C+No%2C+*57772 Unfortunate part is a 12oz spray can is 20 bucks.
  5. Thanks for the compliment! Rough and crude is the way I roll baby*. *Not really, but I built this in my dorm room with barely any work space!
  6. Certainly a lot better than the stock 305 that was in it!
  7. The hitch is from my spare parts, and I just made the mounting plate for it.
  8. Haha luckily I already knew that!
  9. Well that's how the paint was when I got it, I figure it could just be the paint underneath showing through.
  10. Actually I have one I could add, hold on!
  11. Built this up to be sort of a beater/project car. I did plenty of work for how simple of a build this was. I had to completely rebuild the front and rear suspension, dropped in a new engine/transmission, added a new driveshaft, built a custom hood scoop, built a roll bar in the bed with wired-up lights, wired the engine and added hoses, built a custom dual exhaust with chrome tips, and I painted the wheels black with silver hubs. Also added a bumper mounted hitch with "poorly-drilled mounting plate", of course completely planned and not a mishap or anything! When I got it: Final result:
  12. Boy, the amount of detail you're going into for such a basic vehicle, I love it! One thing that is severely bugging me though, is your title which is GMV instead of GMC. You can go back to the first post, hit edit, and then advanced edit, and change the title.
  13. Hmm... real or #152...I'm going to go with #152!
  14. Community builds are simply builds that have a common theme and several people build a vehicle to fit that theme. Sometimes it's just for fun, and sometimes there's a vote for a winner.
  15. Alright, I get it now! Course I'll still stick with my rubber tires thank you very much! Oh, I thought of something else, rubber tires are much better if you want to mount a narrower tire on a wider "wheel" or a narrower wheel on a wider tire, such as on off-road vehicles! Ha!
  16. Easier to make them look real than real rubber?
  17. Seriously, puns guys? This is knot the time or place! Sheesh!
  18. Believe it or not, it's actually the younger people that are purchasing the Buicks. I'm sure it's so people will think they are wealthy or something.
  19. Yeah...Lowes, Home Depot, Menards, what have you.
  20. LDO: probably because rubber tires are hard to replicate without actually using rubber IMO. Usually the engine is painted, so you wouldn't know if it's metal. Carbon fiber can be done with decals. Corvette bodies are painted, and seats can be painted to look like leather or can be covered. Plus with rubber tires, you can easily make them squat, bend, and ripple like real tires.
  21. Not sure if I used the same sort of tape as you (mine had backing that you had to peel off before you could stick it), but I used some as well. It went on good and was easy to flatten down using a Q-tip.
  22. It appears to be the one from the 1993 Mustang Cobra (I recognize the intake manifold).
  23. Looking good so far. I would suggest going to your local hobby store or craft store and purchasing a semi-gloss black paint pen to touch up the seats and dash. As far as engine goes, try and find a Dodge Slant-6, with a 4-barrel carb and chrome air cleaner.
  24. Thanks, I'll have to try that out!
  25. How do you end up putting on the Future?
