  1. Haha luckily I already knew that!
  2. Well that's how the paint was when I got it, I figure it could just be the paint underneath showing through.
  3. Actually I have one I could add, hold on!
  4. Built this up to be sort of a beater/project car. I did plenty of work for how simple of a build this was. I had to completely rebuild the front and rear suspension, dropped in a new engine/transmission, added a new driveshaft, built a custom hood scoop, built a roll bar in the bed with wired-up lights, wired the engine and added hoses, built a custom dual exhaust with chrome tips, and I painted the wheels black with silver hubs. Also added a bumper mounted hitch with "poorly-drilled mounting plate", of course completely planned and not a mishap or anything! When I got it: Final result:
  5. Boy, the amount of detail you're going into for such a basic vehicle, I love it! One thing that is severely bugging me though, is your title which is GMV instead of GMC. You can go back to the first post, hit edit, and then advanced edit, and change the title.
  6. Hmm... real or #152...I'm going to go with #152!
  7. Community builds are simply builds that have a common theme and several people build a vehicle to fit that theme. Sometimes it's just for fun, and sometimes there's a vote for a winner.
  8. Alright, I get it now! Course I'll still stick with my rubber tires thank you very much! Oh, I thought of something else, rubber tires are much better if you want to mount a narrower tire on a wider "wheel" or a narrower wheel on a wider tire, such as on off-road vehicles! Ha!
  9. Easier to make them look real than real rubber?
  10. Seriously, puns guys? This is knot the time or place! Sheesh!
  11. Believe it or not, it's actually the younger people that are purchasing the Buicks. I'm sure it's so people will think they are wealthy or something.
  12. Yeah...Lowes, Home Depot, Menards, what have you.
  13. LDO: probably because rubber tires are hard to replicate without actually using rubber IMO. Usually the engine is painted, so you wouldn't know if it's metal. Carbon fiber can be done with decals. Corvette bodies are painted, and seats can be painted to look like leather or can be covered. Plus with rubber tires, you can easily make them squat, bend, and ripple like real tires.
  14. Not sure if I used the same sort of tape as you (mine had backing that you had to peel off before you could stick it), but I used some as well. It went on good and was easy to flatten down using a Q-tip.
  15. It appears to be the one from the 1993 Mustang Cobra (I recognize the intake manifold).
  16. Looking good so far. I would suggest going to your local hobby store or craft store and purchasing a semi-gloss black paint pen to touch up the seats and dash. As far as engine goes, try and find a Dodge Slant-6, with a 4-barrel carb and chrome air cleaner.
  17. Thanks, I'll have to try that out!
  18. How do you end up putting on the Future?
  19. T.I.V. 1 was a '97 2WD F-450 dually with the 7.3. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tornado_Intercept_Vehicle
  20. I would suggest downloading the OpenOffice pack from here. It's basically like Microsoft Office, but it comes with a program called Draw (and it's free). In it, it's quite simple to use to make pictures smaller without losing clarity. Once you have the program open, look at the bottom of the screen. There should be a button with a red square, blue triangle, and yellow circle. This opens up a picture from your harddrive (which you have to search for obviously). When the image is opened on the screen, right-click on the image and select "position and size". In it, you can actually change the size of the image using inches. There's a little check box that says "keep ratio" that you want checked if you want the image to have the same height-to-width ratio as normal when you resize it. Otherwise, if you want it to have a different ratio, then you just unclick the box. Once that is done, you're ready to print it!
  21. Go to your photobucket and click on the picture you want to post. On the left side, you'll see 4 lines of code. Highlight and copy the image code, and paste it in the reply box in the forum. It should post then.
  22. In a thread, are you posting the URL in the IMG tags? Or are you trying to attach the file?
  23. You are correct in it being a repost! http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=35046&st=0&p=357264&fromsearch=1&#entry357264
  24. The other problem with it is the high beltline. Makes it feel like you're sitting in a tall bathtub with only a mail slot to see out of. It sort of ties into my current car design peeve: crazy beltlines. Why oh why does a car need a beltline that is at a 30 degree angle and makes the car look like a wedge with tiny windows? I guess I'm from the old days where there was a flat beltline and plenty of window space so you could actually see where the heck you're going!
  25. "You didn't see anything."
