  1. Yeah...Lowes, Home Depot, Menards, what have you.
  2. LDO: probably because rubber tires are hard to replicate without actually using rubber IMO. Usually the engine is painted, so you wouldn't know if it's metal. Carbon fiber can be done with decals. Corvette bodies are painted, and seats can be painted to look like leather or can be covered. Plus with rubber tires, you can easily make them squat, bend, and ripple like real tires.
  3. Not sure if I used the same sort of tape as you (mine had backing that you had to peel off before you could stick it), but I used some as well. It went on good and was easy to flatten down using a Q-tip.
  4. It appears to be the one from the 1993 Mustang Cobra (I recognize the intake manifold).
  5. Looking good so far. I would suggest going to your local hobby store or craft store and purchasing a semi-gloss black paint pen to touch up the seats and dash. As far as engine goes, try and find a Dodge Slant-6, with a 4-barrel carb and chrome air cleaner.
  6. Thanks, I'll have to try that out!
  7. How do you end up putting on the Future?
  8. T.I.V. 1 was a '97 2WD F-450 dually with the 7.3. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tornado_Intercept_Vehicle
  9. I would suggest downloading the OpenOffice pack from here. It's basically like Microsoft Office, but it comes with a program called Draw (and it's free). In it, it's quite simple to use to make pictures smaller without losing clarity. Once you have the program open, look at the bottom of the screen. There should be a button with a red square, blue triangle, and yellow circle. This opens up a picture from your harddrive (which you have to search for obviously). When the image is opened on the screen, right-click on the image and select "position and size". In it, you can actually change the size of the image using inches. There's a little check box that says "keep ratio" that you want checked if you want the image to have the same height-to-width ratio as normal when you resize it. Otherwise, if you want it to have a different ratio, then you just unclick the box. Once that is done, you're ready to print it!
  10. Go to your photobucket and click on the picture you want to post. On the left side, you'll see 4 lines of code. Highlight and copy the image code, and paste it in the reply box in the forum. It should post then.
  11. In a thread, are you posting the URL in the IMG tags? Or are you trying to attach the file?
  12. You are correct in it being a repost! http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=35046&st=0&p=357264&fromsearch=1&#entry357264
  13. The other problem with it is the high beltline. Makes it feel like you're sitting in a tall bathtub with only a mail slot to see out of. It sort of ties into my current car design peeve: crazy beltlines. Why oh why does a car need a beltline that is at a 30 degree angle and makes the car look like a wedge with tiny windows? I guess I'm from the old days where there was a flat beltline and plenty of window space so you could actually see where the heck you're going!
  14. "You didn't see anything."
  15. Since they decided to release the new Mustang in 1/12 scale, I hope they could eventually rerelease the 1/12th '69 Camaro and Corvette!
  16. Actually "I could care less" is usually said with sarcasm, it's just tougher to tell in writing. Of course, you get the morons who actually think that that's the correct phrasing. You're not a moron Harry, are you?
  17. I'm sure most of them know that it would be easy to spot, so they bring it somewhere to strip it down and sell off the parts, or paint it a different color. It's worse down south, since the thieves can bring the vehicle down to Mexico and it'll never be seen again. Hope nothing of the sort has happened to this guy's truck and he gets it back.
  18. Almost looks like it has the military blackout lights that were on the old army trucks.
  19. Ain't is a word, it's a contraction for ain't not.
  20. Decals turned out great! Suggestion would be to take your time on taking pictures. Try from different angles and distances to get a nice clear image. Remember, it's digital which means you won't run out of image space! (unless you don't delete any )
  21. My brother's bringing me my Ford truck parts this weekend, so I should be started soon.
  22. Should be an interesting final result! One thing though, the rear wheel wells seem a bit too tall, though it may just be the perspective.
  23. I know there was a resin body made of the S-10 Blazer, but I'm not sure if it's still available or where to find it.
  24. Unfortunately no. There haven't been any kits of new pickups for about a decade now. You may be able to find a diecast model, but not a plastic kit.
