  1. This is one of my rebuilds that I'm doing. It originally came with the 1990 Chevy C1500 and clear car trailer (both of which are also being rebuilt). Here is how it was originally built: And here is the chassis and engine built up so far. The spark plug wires are just thread, and I fabbed up some rear leaf springs, since the kit originally had coil springs and wheelie-bars. Here's about what I plan on having it look like when it's done, besides the wheels of course.
  2. No you're not crazy Nick! I figured they would look good as centers for my "subs".
  3. Yup, certainly does! Course, we need a caller ID box so I can see who's calling... And as for the Chevy seats, I figured they would help give it that luxury conversion truck look.
  4. Well after an eternity, I've finally started on the matching F-350 Dually. Here's what it looked like before I disassembled it: Here's the "rolling chassis": Here's the interior, complete with custom B&M Megashifter, 15" subs and chrome amp, and seats and console from the '99 Silverado: Closeup of shifter: And here's the start of the engine/transmission:
  5. Don't know if it's one of the photo sites you tried, but Photobucket is the one I use and is IMO the easiest to navigate and upload pics to. I haven't received any junk or spam from them either.
  6. I second (fifth? tenth?) Harry's concept. I like when things are categorized, since it's easier to find what one is interested in. If you're one of the people who want to see everything, just view the new content since it will all be mixed together. Harry (or Pat or Gregg): is the pickup truck section in the Model Trucks area, as it stands now, meant for just finished builds or WIPs as well?
  7. Yeah it would probably work fine on white plastic. Of course, the Scout II kit is in gray plastic, so it probably wouldn't have turned out as great.
  8. Thanks, got some good undercarriage pics from the Craigslist car!
  9. Do you happen to have any of the chassis/drivetrain? Those are the only pics that I couldn't find (other than one of the rear axle).
  10. Got some pics of the build that I will be starting with. Like I said, for some reason I was into the lowrider theme.
  11. Yeah, I think the Supercab and Crew cabs came with the flat topped bench seats. Funny thing though is that I just figured out that the rear seat in the kit is supposed to be folded down! I was wondering why it didn't look like any seat that I've ever seen.
  12. LMC Truck has the axle specs. 9" was '80-'86 8.8" was '83-'96, though they must have changed something in '87 10.25" was '86-'96 Oddly enough, it appears that the 8.8" and 10.25" have different diameter axle shafts for each side, with the left side larger than the right!
  13. Was that in reply to me? If not, then great minds think alike!
  14. I have two techniques which are a bit more primitive. The first is I paint a medium to light brown base coat to start. Once it dries, I use a thin dark brown Sharpie to draw in some lines and knots. From up close it looks ok, but from farther away it looks pretty good. The second technique, for smaller surfaces, is to paint the area with a silver Sharpie. Once it dries, I use a dark brown Sharpie and basically color in the area. It gives a nice wood grain look. Here's a pic of my second technique on my '75 Int'l Scout II dash:
  15. Well if anyone wants to contact them, here's some info: Sales Contact: Jody Keener Phone: 319-365-5842 jlloydimports@aol.com
  16. Nope that doesn't work. If you didn't quite understand what he meant, he's saying that the software only keeps so many lines of the conversation available to scroll up and down to look at. However, there is a button above the reply box (with a hand holding a pen) that opens up a new tab/window and gives a transcript of the entire conversation since you've signed in.
  17. Yeah I was getting an "incorrect login", and I tried both my site login as well as my username here. No dice. So guest it is!
  18. I'm partial to no change, so I went back to the IP Board skin.
  19. Then how come all the Lincoln Town Car limos I see have doors on both sides?
  20. Those appear to be a set of Volk Mesh wheels. Course, I don't know where you bought them from!
