Color is still up in the air for me. I'm thinking red or white.

Just purchased the rereleased Monogram Mustang SVO kit, and I'm going to build it practically stock, with the exception of some Lightning 5-spoke wheels (figure on new hubs used with the correct F-150 bolt pattern.) Lightning wheels are from a built kit, so they are currently sitting in the purple stuff. Since I haven't seen anyone else doing so (unless it's in the Fox Body Community Build), I'm going to try and correct the flaws of the kit along the way. Of course, since I'll be doing the '84 version, I have to back-date the headlights to the correct sealed beam style. This shouldn't be too difficult though with the way the light buckets are made, I should just be able to do some minimal mods and use some smaller lenses. (I really think the model on the box looks bug-eyed with the flush lenses ). Sit tight, as I will be starting on the engine and transmission!

What I'll be building is using the 1993 Ranger STX kit, along with parts from a snap-tite NASCAR and engine from the Revell Mustang convertible, I'll be building a faux-stock truck, similar in style to the Monte Carlo from the Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. I'll be using the rear axle/suspension, wheels/tires, steering wheel, and the roll cage from the NASCAR kit. Here's the chassis so far.

How angry do you get?
Jordan White replied to SuperStockAndy's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
There was one time that I had the opposite happen: dropped my finished model on the floor and it broke, anger of course ensued (then of course a rebuild, luckily it was one of my simpler builds). -

I actually think this is a good idea. You wouldn't have to worry about ruined mags, you could read them right after they are published, more content could be added due to "unlimited" space, and the subscription could be cheaper due to the related costs. Heck, if you host it in PDF format, it's easy to print for those who want the print version, and no one should have problems loading it.

I found that a flathead screwdriver works great, since they come in several sizes and offer a nice handle. Course this is if you're doing small or narrow spots.

Any updates on this build?

How safe is your driving?

It's a rough guesstimate using say a post on the side of the road, when the car ahead of you passes the post, you count the seconds until you pass the post which gives you your following time. -
Yes! Finally received this! Gonna build it up like I want to build up my Jeep down the road. \

Tips, Tricks and Tutorials
Jordan White replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I suppose he could have left out the chaos remark since some people can figure out the board okay enough, but I do agree that a board that's as disorganized (or rather not organized) like Spotlight is, is something that we don't want here simply because of how difficult it is to find certain subjects. -
Axle question
Jordan White replied to revshag's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Another good choice for the 14 bolt rear axle is the axle from the Monogram F-250 kit, obviously not a GM axle but the same basic shape. -
I think it's one of those deals where it would have been harder to modify the belt assembly to make the correct non-A/C routing, though he could have probably just made it an extra pulley and no one would have been the wiser.

1992 Ford F-150 Nite
Jordan White replied to Jordan White's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Build completed, pics can be found here. The Lesser Known Sport/Muscle Trucks -
What I've built is the sort of predecessor to the Ford Lightning. The F-150 Nite included black paint, black low mount mirrors, body color bumpers and grille, aluminum wheels, and of course the signature blue/pink striping and badging. The Nite was actually introduced in 1991 on the previous design, but I decided to do the 1992 version using the newer body style. Unlike the Lightning though, the Nite was offered in all the same body and drivetrain configurations as the regular F-150, in this case I've built the 2WD Regular Cab Short Box version. I figured on making it a showroom fresh style, hence I made a window sticker for it as well as adding a decal onto the model's window. Also, the dealer plates are for Art Goebal Ford which was the same dealer where my dad bought his Aerostar back in 1989. They aren't around anymore, but my dad had an envelope with the logo he claims was on the dealer plates.

Double (and Triple) Posting
Jordan White replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Make the New Content page a bookmark in your browser? Harry: what about doing, say, a build up in the trucks section, and posting the finished pics in the same thread, then posting another post of just the completed pics in the Under Glass? -
