  1. Got a mockup with primer .. bodywork is done ... this was a long road to this point! Thinning the resin body and panel line repairs were the most time consuming but all the TR4 things are well done and it just needs the TR4A specific side chrome and side light assembly to be made. I popped the PE grill in that came with the kit. The wheels are in Metalizer Stainless Steel and maybe too shiny, the wires were only painted. The interior pieced are in black primer and the top boot is made but only taped in place and not laying flat. It will have the piece attached to the front edge that hangs down .. not sure of the purpose of this loose flap. I've been working on the dash as this will be a focal point and need a lot of love! First is the resin dash that came with the lit. I was going to make a wood decal and drill out the instruments for more decals, but decided to print a photo of the dash wood and probably the instruments with it. There are trim rings on the PE fret to use around them. First is a scan of the resin dash and the PE fret from the kit: This is the dash with a low resolution print of some dash wood .. needs sone more irregular grain I think.
  2. My Ferrari will be having a hard time with this one!
  3. Powders will dull down and "dirty" it well as Miles says. Just use the BMF and use a simi-gloss or Dullcoat over it to tale shine away .. use a brush so it gets a spotty look .. still some shine is some protected areas.
  4. A sleeper for sure! This should be a Sleeperball contender.
  5. That's a beautiful build!
  6. Thanks .. I knew it had to be simple. Too bad programmers keep needing to redefine the English language.
  7. That's some pretty clean mud .. Looks good .. pics also
  8. ... what used to be a Personal Message. I can't find anything on the page to delete a conversation.
  9. I never knew that. I drove there in 1968 and saw no one coming down my lane on "wrong" side of the road aimed at me! We left out car in Calais on out way to London so we wouldn't have to battle the "wrong side of the road".
  10. That IS a 968 Vert .. completely stock. The 968 was the 944 replacement. After five 924/944's I tried to find a 968, to no avail .. there weren't many made.
  11. Welcome to the forum and back to the workbench.
  12. I think any wash of your choosing would work. I used Alclad on the grill of a GMC van I did and used my usual India ink 10% wash on it. That's usually stronger than the washes most use. I'm pretty happy with it. The center did need it to be all black.
  13. Using a piece of 40 Ford nose looks to be a good solution to get the form there.
  14. My only issue is getting stuck on a post when I add to a thread ... the Firefox return arrow just leaves me in the thread and doesn't return where it should to the thread listing.I just hit the New Content button to return. . It's not every time and possibly when I add photos to a build thread of my own. I'm using the latest Firefox. edit: well, I got stuck here, so not just my photos threads.
  15. poor Kevin ... "I'm a Resin Doctor, Captain, not a computer geek!"
  16. I have so many builds going on that's its easy to put a problem away and move to another. Whatever it was that caused the frustration usually gets solved, many times by a thread here, and I'll move on and get to the next frustration!
  17. Glad to see you going ahead with this.. you have enough stock Cobras to satiate your needs! I hope you're going to carry the boat tail downwards and not do a Daytona chop .. eheh.
  18. I didn't know a Roadmaster would even FIT on our back roads, Charlie! Did you meet up with our own VW Dave at he Saratoga Auto Museum? .. his place of employment, lucky guy. I
  19. At least the rear wheels will turn with .. does the engine actually work? Those gears ARE beautiful!
  20. I've been looking for bare aluminum body pics and this is very timely .. glad you posted.
  21. I needed a transmission tunnel and found the one in the Gunze TR3 kit to be the perfect size but I didn't want to cut up that kit. After considering a few ways to make it I made a mold with silicone rubber and made a casting with Bondic. (see my post here for more photos about Bondic). It all worked out well and now the interior is coming together!
  22. Did another casting of a transmission tunnel I needed for a TR4A build. Just making a mold and coating it with Boncic proved the quickest and easiest way. I had a tunnel from a TR3 kit that was the perfect fit but I didn't want to use the kit piece. In hindsight, I should have just cast the whole tunnel and made as one piece. As it was, I used some tubing and flat pieces to construct the rounded sections. Here's the walk thru in photos ..
  23. Looks good .. the rear tires add to it well. I always thought the gaping Plymouth mouth made a good gasser.
  24. ... not to mention those loooong winters! Welcome to the forum, Ty!
  25. This is the last thread from Bill I found on the Challenger, but he never got to explaining his painting .. so please let us all know, Bill!!
