The Ferrari chassis and interior are done. Just another taillight to cast as there are only 4 lights from this glue bomb that are passable. Have to come up with replacement front turn signal lenses too.
35mm rest in peace ... digital rocks! I had my first 35mm in 1962 ... but I love digital so much more. It takes care of all the shortcomings of 35mm and gets so much better results ... even bigger enlargements .. and all at home with no dark red lights.
Charlie is just stubborn.
I've given up saving car mags. I do still have old Model Car mags, though . can't get myself to trash them.
With new magazines I just scan into the computer articles I might want later for reference then trash. The big problem now if remembering and finding what I've scanned.
I started with model ships from a 3 ship kit I got for Christmas. My Dad built one along with me as I did the tugboat. I I really enjoyed it and hoped to someday paint as good as my Dad did on HIS first plastic kit! I went thru many ships, planes and armor but was always a car nut. All the car kits at the time were multi piece bodies which didn't sound good to me. Then ... DRUM ROLL ... in 1958 a company called AMT came out with ONE PIECE bodies and I was HOOKED! I never looked back although I did build a couple Armor models of vehicles I drove in the Army ... APC Lowrider .. linking just not working today .. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/19880-armored-personal-carrier-lowrider/
That's basically what I've been using but I have albums made for stamps, as suggested by Tom Geiger here It has worked out well as they are sorted by type and well protected.
It's impossible for me to make any responsible comment here because I build cars for FUN and build cars because that's a subject I love. I built planes, ships and armor when young but switched to all cars in 1958 with the first AMT kits. I have never criticized and kit for accuracy but do tune in for a quick review of those threads to see what doesn't matter. Maybe it's just that I started on cars as customs and have never built a kit I didn't modify .. so "accuracy" is a moot point. More recently I have been building cars I have owned where accuracy should count, but even these I do a lot of bodywork and weather a grill is .001" too wide is pretty silly. OK everyone .. just have fun.
I fully agree with you, Harry, but, as sloow as I build, when I run out of Testors Flat Black I need it NOW! ... when my LHS closes I'm going to get antsy waiting for a week from Amazon.
