Sounds like you should get Don Yost's video "The Art of Airbrushing Show Quality Model Cars" I know many here will swear by Don's advice. He also swears by using enamels thinned with lacquer thinner.
As far as a compressor with a holding tank, you should read this recent post here about them
ping ... this has been in the works almost as long as my G35! ... was searching something and came back on this thread ... but, now Chuck is doing truck articles for MCM so a grant him time's short ... and articles have been wonderful.
Oh yes, post the G35! Not a one I've ever seen posted here and I can't get enough of them ... I had a G35 and G37. Guess I should get on to finish my build.. eheh
This does look interesting. All it needs now is to replace the ugly old Infiniti lower body with one from an Infiniti G. Infinity never got it until the G's were introduced and those they got the roof right .. along with everything else! That Ferarri roof is not far off from the G35 below.
I hope you'll do some mild customizing on the body .. or that might be against your whole premise with this build ..
This is my wife's first Subaru Legacy wagon .. 1991
Her '95 Legacy is almost done .. ehhe
And my first car, a 1951 Plymouth 4-door isn't even close as this is a '50 Plymouth to be converted
My Merc Woody is getting there but but wood needs work ..
Thanks, Michael. I found this Dremel rubber wheel. Looks small compared to what lodged in my head, but seems made for this use. Being Jeweler's tools, this may be closer.
Do any of these look like what you use? I'd really like to try this.
Welcome to the forum. Think you'll like putting something you built .. and to your own specifications .. up on shelf next to those mass produced models. There IS a diecast section here too.
That's interesting .. the soft rubber wheel dressing of the ends. Could you be more specific with a photo and exactly what wheel? The rubber wheel doesn't get cut to shreds doing this?
THAT it is!
I was bugged that I couldn't put a link to where this tool can be had .. so here it is ..
Micro Mark has a similar one that mounts on the bench
Etsy this is very much like mine above
And a similar one with a measuring gauge for the tube length
