  1. I made decals of the Massachusetts inspection sticker off my 1:1 to use on builds. The first show didn't print well so I'll be adjusting the printer. It's just that I'm never in any rush to finish .. ehhehe
  2. it's interesting seeing how you've attacked this and will be more so continuing to watch!

    Cobra 40

I like it. Sectioning it really gave it a sports car look along with the roof removal.
  4. I like the trick on the front using the roof visor to avoid splicing in a piece to lengthen the roof.
  5. I've been doing a A100 pickup but have saved a few van photos while researching details. They aren't the best but might help a little. Be sure to post what you come up with!
  6. Great to see two together here .. they look fantastic! I keep staring at the 2 TR3's I have for parts building a TR4A I owned, but I MUST be able to get a 3 out of what's left!
  7. Good setup .. the Flying Car is flying!
  8. No problem giving a heads up on security but if you really want to be secure, leave your computer off. I do know a little .. I wrote my first computer program in 1964 for some "little" IBM we had in our engineering department in college. I've been involved ever since but never was in the industry. Everyone SHOULD be aware of things that can happen so I do appreciate your comment.
  9. First, the only way to make money on the net is through advertising. So, what don't you people trashing Facebook not understand? Second .. WHY are you putting personal info in your facebook account? I can't believe all these people putting their real names in there. Just make an account with an alias and use a gmail.com email account. Here's some eye candy for ya all to see a bit of the neat vehicles in there .. A School Bus I created a skin in Photoshop for ..
  10. I was building plastic models with tube glue and paint (was no spray paints back then) before I was 10 years old. Don't downplay the abilities of our kids! I'm not familiar with eithe of these kits so sorry I can't contribute there.
  11. Interesting using siding for the intercoolers .. they look really good.
  12. Wonderful weathering!!
  13. I have one of these on the bench .. and I have to say you did a spectacular job on this!
  14. I had about a 30 year break and got back in when my kids were coming of age. I actually finished a few builds and then a 15 year break came. Now, being retired I'm back for 4 years but haven't finished a thing! But I'm enjoying building immensely! It's NOT what you finish but how you enjoy the trip!
  15. You had me all excited .. my first car was a 51 Plymouth No biggie ..
  16. the air-cooled Golf was the best!
  17. Just wondering where the '49 Plymouth is?
  18. Donn's racking his brain trying to remember it ...
  19. I'm not so sure this works in my case, but on second thought ... I grew up in the middle of Old Yankee Connecticut and there weren't many customs I saw around in the 50's. One person had a custom in high school .. a chopped 49 Merc with skirts and Buick trim. I bought all the custom and rod magazines I could find and those are what influenced my building .. going so far as to use the 1:1 techniques to do my modeling customizing .. like wrapping wire around dual headlights and molding that to the body. Later I spent time in Germany during service and became interested in EVERYTHING there. I bought a Triumph TR4A when returning and many Volkswagens .. most of which I've modeled (or, at least begun! ehhe ) Modeling cars I've owned so that would make the "model where you live" statement as true as you can get!
  20. There we go! What would we do without we do without these young'uns to show us the way .. .. thanks, Andy
  21. A commendable job and looks like you're having fub .. what it's all about. Looking forward to seeing it all together.
  22. DOS 8 is going to rock!
  23. What I enjoyed was the almost complete lack of pickup trucks!
  24. My old cheap compressor has given me lots of use for what I paid .. but I can't adjust the pressure anymore. So this was a good excuse to get a good one this time to match my Stylus.
  25. I'm just below you guys near Pittsfield .. and ya . 3 hours is a long way.
