    Pink Hudson

Very good looking .. and very good excuse!
  3. I love the flares!!
  4. oh my .. I can SEE thru that!!
  5. This is Micro Marks take on them .. though they had 3 sizes but only two. I would just get one that fits your work area and budget. Personally I have an 8.5 x 12 one and have never thought I needed something larger. Edit: sorry .. I meant to put the link in here .. Micro Mark cutting mats and we get Michaels here, but they too have cutting mats.
  6. I just dry brushed it with various rust colors.
  7. Yeah! .. I'm liking that now that it's one color..!!
  8. Despite that 1958 date listed, most cars here has turn signals in the early 50's at least. My first car, a '51 Plymouth had them with lever mounted on steering wheel as normal. Maybe it was the manufactures competition that put them in, I do remember European cars having those side, flip out levers in the mid '50's.
  9. Just plain eye goggling candy and I'm loving seeing many I've seen here before! My favorite is this truck since it was my first weathering job and I had such fum doing it. Also, I didn't have to worry about shine! I just love how the rusty patches and wear came out.
  10. I'd just be careful of 20 year old models as they probably have may axles and submerging them would invite rust. A good quick air dry with a blower would probably get them dry quick enough to stall the rust. Now that I think of it, 20 years isn't that old .. probably need older to get steel axles!
  11. a very small update as I've been waiting for some parts. I did come upon a shovel I plan to make into a bomber seat. It has the right size and shape and just needs some sheet wrapped around it for a back. The cylinders are for the seat swivel (the short ones) and the machine gun swivel mount, the long one. The seams are tough to see, but they were just made from two tubes. The shaft has a larger tube slice glued to the base while the sleeve has a smaller tube half it's length glued toward the top. The sleeve will glue to the floor and trap the base, allowing the shaft to rotate. I almost think I should have sketched it up to be clearer. Coming up with a solution like this is what I love about this hobby ... simple and effective.
  12. Pactra candy .. yes I've messed up one of those paint jobs before . It's fantastic to see this has survived so long and it's great looking to boot!
  13. I think Steve has it .. it HAS to be cost .. there's no other reason to do anything with a car model. Saying it's technical just because it's a new kit doesn't cut it. Examples have been given above as to the abilities of mold makers of older kits.
  14. My Saturday may look a mess but I know what every piece is!! The Zombie scout car hasn't died .. just many small engine and axle jobs going thru the pipeline.
  15. Was roaming around to spark some ideas for my scout car and came on this site for concept cars. It's not what you'd expect with all sleek, gleaming sheet metal. There's more that is appropriate to this build than anything in there and many good ideas to spark some thought. An example would be this Zombie harvester!
  16. All the photos of this machinery has been a pleasure watching!!
  17. I have to whistle at that one!
  18. Why do I think I'm going to love the body in color on this?? It's looking very good!
  19. Thanks for that! The chrome lacquer is the toughest for me to remove .. I've tried them all .. Will be trying some Totally Awesome. ))
  20. Ever since I started building model cars with the AMT 58 TBird I had some vision in my head of what I'd like to find in the box when I opened it, although I never thought of it until opening the Hudson and Chrysler .. and after all these years .. THERE IT WAS! Thank you Moebius for making this come to be,
  21. Good ideas. If you want to make yourself crazy you could make them with a plastic punch like the one from Micro-Mark and some small rod.
  22. Came out great and was a pleasure following the build.
  23. I don't think you've been to any shows or read any modeling magazines if you don't know who Anthony is.
  24. WoW! I'm still trying to get a paint job like that after 50 years at it.
  25. Christian. your dreams are encroaching on my waking hours! .. every one of them!
