  1. And besides ... Cranky seems to build the same kits over and over and over .. and none of his builds look like they are from the same planet!
  2. GROOVY! Had to be a blast painting that
  3. Love it! Rods with odd engines are my cup of gasoline.
  4. I would doubt that any two builds here using the same kit as a base would be even recognizable as the same starter kit!
  5. That IS Black! .. very nice job and VERY good looking!
  6. Welcome in, Hal . and good to see another MA player here.
  7. Another great one, Bernard! I love how it seems to be stretching out for the road.
  8. More photos in a diorama are further down the page
  9. This was build for Dr Cranky's Post Apocalypse/Zombie Hunter Community build. My work in process is in with the amazingly creative builds there. Do visit there if you haven't! The body for this was a computer mouse cover I have saved to be used for a hot rod just waiting for the right time .. this was it! The chassis and engine came from a glue bombed MPC Skorpion kit I acquired somewhere. Some trimming of the floor pan and it fit the mouse like it was made for it. The gun I made from scratch using a Browning M1719 machine gun as a prototype.
  10. I'm done on this one ... the gun is in place but it fought me to the end. I finally cut the air cooling hose as it was too stiff in kept breaking the glue bond. All in all the look of the gun pleases me, so that's all that matters. Here's a few final shots and more will be in the Under Glass shots as this is my first completion in 20 years!
  11. The gun belt is nice on those, Wayne!
  12. Ah well, I'm a simple car guy .. I like 'em all .. even trucks! And everything in one place suits me. But, since I use the simple "View New Content" button, I see them all anyway .. no matter how much you all want to hide and categorize everything.
  13. Didn't Doc just say that a couple days ago?
  14. That trigger is smaller than Lincoln's nose! You like to inflict pain on yourself?
  15. It looks like getting the pose right may have been the toughest to do.
  16. Hot water always works, but I hate going upstairs from the basement to access the facet. I used pliers for years but they always dented the cap and made it worst the next time. Then I tried these bottle openers from Micro-Mark and have retired the pliers to the tool box. They work very well and only the most torque toughened caps need the hot water. Even then opener works sooner on them.
  17. That truck looks like a good start, Randal. I especially like what you did for the gun ... simple but effective looking!
  18. The gun is in the shop being calibrated but the boys took the Mouse Rod out for a spin with everything else installed! Tomorrow final ones with the weapon on.. !!
  19. Wow! What a pleasure to view is that diorama!
  20. letting the pics speak for themselves .. I might just finish this one!!! .. I'll blame Cranky for ruining my reputation....
  21. I use Archer resin decals for welds. Another member here uses styrene half rounds that he applies glue to and shapes to a weld to good effect. Here's a photo with some Archer welds: .. bah .. never took good pics of these welds .. look at the junction of the red upper air shroud to the old VW one. I also used some on this dragster around the door line: I'm going to have to take some closer photos to show how these look.
  22. I love fastbacks and I saw yours still IS one, Bjarne, no matter how much back it's lost! I really like how it's looking.. !
  23. Those ARE nice looking carbs! Will have to remember that source.
  24. Mold making has never been cheap and has always been the expensive part of creating a model kit. If anything, CAD/CAM has made it less expensive, but I doubt even that as CAD has not changed the cost to make engineering drawings, which I was responsible for.
