  1. Now, that's a well protected ride! Looks real good..
  2. OH MY!!~! I just saw next year's NLL East SubTheme ... VANS! I'm FINISHING this!!!!
  3. I think the reflection in the front hubcap shows a pretty common landmark that would give the country ... oh wait .. that's just dirt.
  4. This is moving down the historic path .. two steps forward and one back. I masked the body to spray some flat black where some old bodywork was done and just primered over. That went beautifully as I wanted the edges faded and leaving the masks loose at the edges accomplished that perfectly. Trouble was, the tape on the rear doors lifted some of the decals off. I made extra decals so that's not a big problem, but I don't need the extra work. You can compare this new shot to the one just above to see what got lifted off the rear doors. Also adding a photo of the 1:1 to see the black patched areas on the left side. The door hinge is repaired and just needs some touch up paint. Also cut out the patterns for the windows. I have some purple tinted clear plastic from report folders but it's not the best shade. Going to have to visit Michel's again to see if they have some better purple shades. I'm ready to Alclad the bumpers, but still nervous as this will be my first chrome Alclad job.
  5. That really shows off the huge mass of the old Hudsons!
  6. I love the grill on this one!
  7. Thanks for that, Chilly .. I was beginning to think of a little alcohol to break the surface tension in the wash .... guess it's back to soap.
  8. Sorry I gave the wrong impression . the photo above is the original chrome before it was stripped. Thanks for the opinions here ...
  9. I wish I could do even a lousy job as fast as you work! Looking simple gorgeous!
  10. I expect the answer to this question is NO, but maybe there's some experience here. The grill in question has only horizontal bars and can probably can be done carefully without getting on it the horizontal bars, but I expect any "spill onto the Alclad surfaces will not be removable without ruining the Alclad shine .. even using a water base paint ... Tamiya acrylic to be exact. I think a fine line ink pen might work but a wash would give better results if possible. I'd appreciate any thoughts on this ... especially any experience. Here's a photo of the grill in question ... it's been stripped to add the Infiniti logo
  11. That is stunning for a first model! .. looks like she must have had a good teacher ..

  17. The Commemorative Watch means you have to watch for the next person with 5000 posts and commentate him/her.
  18. yeah //when it reaches that point just step back, go to another one, or just take a break. It will come back looking better
  19. I had to look this one up since I had a '50 Plymouth .. but I see it's a '54. A very nice job and will be great to see one built. Did come on this page that shows the frame.
  20. OK! Here we go again ... with the Mouse Rod finished as the first under glass in a LONG while, I got stoked and got back to this! The window trim BMF stopped me and now it's all done today! So, no stopping me now! I almost started a new thread but couldn't split it up, so, sorry for you first timers here that had to wade through the first 17 pages. After the BMF I noticed that one of the door hinges was gone and a piece of the hinge was .. UNGLUED! So back to the hinges . groan You can see the white spot on the left upper hinge in the photo. I promise this one is back in gear and will be plenty of updates as it moves!
  21. If I was all of you, I'd listen to Dr. Pamp.
  22. Can we stick pins in them? .. hope you use a soft resin ...
  23. Holy cow, Blaze ... we're talking serious machinery there!
