  1. That's some really nice detail work!
  2. Just one photo and it's a big one. Working on the engine, the competition pack 283 Chevy with front mounted Povin blower for my Comp Coupe. Been making the springs for what I believe is a crude "blowoff valve" on the intake. Maybe someone can verify this is what it is. I've seen it on most Povin blowers and it is modeled, but just a flat, round plate. It's just in pieces in the photo, but the intake is drilled and typically 6 bolts with springs on their shafts screw in. And another question while we're here. All the brass paint I have really sucks. Model Master and Floquil Brass. Both have chunks in them.. it came that way. Is there any brass paint that goes on smooth? The bolts in the pics are painted with the Model Master and look terrible. Also, as this is the 60's, the engine got fueled with "leaded"! The Vicky body is so long that when I did a mock up, it did a wheelie standing still! So. the engine got filled with lead sheets to balance it out. The back of the frame was extended so it now supports the back of the body.
  3. Great looking bug! Wish I knew of this kit when I scratch build those bumpers for a '68.
  4. Have a good one, Harry!
  5. That looks great! Considering the color, is that a Chevy wound mill?
  6. These 60's cars are a pain to foil, but you did a fantastic job with it!
  7. I'm really liking the sound of this.
  8. Loving the look of this one!
  9. you start spraying the third color on a body and discover you put the wrong color cap on the can last time ....
  10. Simply gorgeous! What are those interesting wheels?
  11. A great looking mesh, Tim. Gonna be interesting seeing how you progress using the prototype.
  12. Yeah, an Audi build!! ... New England is where Audi's belong (.. to bump all those Subies off the road.. ehehhe) Nice wheels!
  13. Coming along nicely. The weathering is looking very realistic.
  14. so am I .. WOOT Yankees!!!!!!! I grew up in Hartford, halfway between. People there lean one way ot the other. For me it was ALWAYS Yankees! Now, living in Massachusetts, but being close to the New York State border, I have some protection with Yankee infiltrators here. The most disgusting part of the whole series was the team donning the commercial hats and tee shirts for the mound celebration .. what is this, NASCAR?
  15. Maybe you could get Brad Leisure to do up a sketch of where you're going with this ...
  16. The railroaders love to spray from 3 feet back for some spotty coverage when weathering. Probably the way it's meant to be applied .. and just what you say .. flat tan!
  17. This is looking cool.. love those headlights!!
  18. I had to check Pierceton on a map ... I went to school in Angola, about the same distance away I moved back to the dense northeast and now it's a 2 hour round trip to the LHS .. should have stayed in the cornfields..
  19. Very interesting design study. It all works together very well!
  20. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . ... THAT WAS, ... "speachless!!!!" ..I am ... !!
  21. I miss the generic valium capsules ... they made great Buick bumper bullets if you wet the tips and made them pointed with your lips. and if it didn't work the first time, you didn't care .... and, WELCOME David!
  22. This is one great looking truck! Very nice body work and that is some major ... and good looking ... plumbing in the engine bay!
  23. Spectacular!
  24. I use Microscale Micro Liquitape for mocking up. It's a white liquid you apply to both parts and makes a nice bond that can even be taken apart and put back together. It all washes off with water. A quote on the bottle says "A tacky adhesive for temporarily joining most modeling materials". This stuff is great and just what you asked for. Here's a link to it at the BMF site. It's at the bottom of the page.
  25. Credible weathering there. That's a cool diorama.
