  1. This thing actually looks good! Link to more pics
  2. that clown needs help!
  3. I was going to say that looked like a pretty big tail light .. and it IS! That is some buckets of resin for a mold like that. Maybe just make a template with one square and use that as a mask to spray or brush on the black. It might get tight close to the tail lights.
  4. That sucker is GORGEOUS! ...even if it is a Corvette. I suspect the Vette camp may string you up for that mid-engine, but it makes sense to me.
  5. Someone posted photos of those saws in this thread about opening doors.
  6. How did you know my tuning secret?? .. if the engine doesn't vibrate with Jimmy set at 12, then it won't under 700 horsepower!! Cool derivation on your name, but I was referring to the forum requirement to post your real name in your signature.
  7. Those wheels really look good!
  8. The Dragster shops are working overtime. The frame is almost ready for paint and the Vicky coup doors are being welded shut with Archer weld bead "decals". I can't wait to see how these look in paint!. Lots of detail painting in the works on all the parts. The carpet monster regurgitated the two parts that were missing! The headers are the biggest question now. I wanted to make some zoomies, but as time is running short I may just shorten and drill out the kit headers that are in the photo. The magneto is wired and ready and believe I have the method of fabrication for the rubber fuel line ends worked out using hex and round rod with brass metalizer paint. It's probably about time to glue some of the engine and blower together for some test fitting before the frame is set in weld metal and lacquer!
  9. Neato, Ryan! Definitely needs a sander in back ... this IS New England after all. And get that dremel to work grinding out the salt holes in the body ...
  10. That looks super, ummmm ... 3men2s. An Under Glass would be cool for full disclosure. P.S. how did you make it here so long without your real name in your posts??
  11. Micro Liquitape is the best I've found for mocking up. It's a sticky, temporary "white glue" that you apply to both parts, wait a minute or two and it becomes tacky and remains so. Parts can be taken apart and stuck back together without reapplying. It cleans off with soap and water. This is what it's made for. It's down near the bottom of this page
  12. These are some nice, clean builds! That dragster is pretty cool ... don't remember seeing that model before. The camera's not doing bad ... depth of field (focus depth) is pretty good. The camera is still opening the apature it looks like because of low light intensity. One thing you can do ... there should be a White Balance setting on the camera that should be changed to Tungson or Incandescent. This will take the "yellow" out of the photo and colors will be more natural. This is correcting for the yellow of regular old light bulbs.
  13. That's cool looking! Will be watching for the next one..
  14. NO WAY you're gonna get me to IDAHO!!!
  15. I'm just passing the time waiting for that front VW emblem to rob and paste on the 56 Kombi in the paint shop. Hopefully it's not TOO big to use. The cast in Hasa one has been just too nasty to paint in the contrasting color. Then, ... who knows where it ends up!
  16. There's a lot of info out on the web. The techniques used by railroaders and the armor guys apply here too. For the heavy rusting yo are considering try RUSTALL or Sophisticated Finishes Rust Antiquing Set (available in Michaels). Search it here in this forum too as there are many threads on the subject. I'd try a search for "model junkyards" for that heavy rust effect.
  17. I would have never known unless you told me, Bernard. see ya at the strip!
  18. Sounds interesting. Have you used it on anything yet? ... I see I missed this first time around, will have to keep an eye out.
  19. Looks great .. smoooth!
  20. Loving the sound of this. I always thought these Dodges were so ugly they approached beautiful! And, they seem to get better as time increases from the day I sneaked a peek at the "new" Dodges hidden behind the dealership .. where my Dad happened to be doing some carpenter work ..
  21. heheh .. but they age well!
  22. Definitely a looker. Welcome to the Lion's build, Bernard. Looks like my comp coupe will have something to race...
  23. It came out absolutely STUNNING! I can imagine how many stood staring trying to figure out what it is. And, what a bummer with the paint...not sure I would have survived that. SO glad you did, Bob!!
  24. Ok .., another start-stop Saturday, so may as well take some pics as I search the carpet. Been trying to get the Buildoff 60 Comp coupe somewhere but the parts keep wandering off on their own! Today the fuel tank and engine mounting plate took a walk. The plate you might see on the table is from a different kit that may donate itself if the other doesn't surface in a day or two. This is down in my basement and could use a partition behind the table to hang parts and tools on for easy reach ... but I have all the room I could want and it's serviceable .. except for the resident Carpet Monster. UPDATE 11AM: Found the fuel tank ... dropped next to paint booth and ond end popped loose ... and found that! WOOT! .. just the engine plate now and can continue on..
  25. That's a beautiful build ... clean and great detailing!
