To Dave of Treehugger fame: I truly appreciate all the input you've given on the use of Alclad .. and everyone else that has contributed. I really am ready to try this for the first time. Just waiting for spring and some warmer temps now.

Cars you wished that was in 1/24
Foxer replied to ericmaxman's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I had a '67 TR4A and this is as close as it gets.. 1/32 unfortunately, but it is quite detailed for that scale. Some day it will get the Navy paint and red pinstripe .. -
That is looking fantastic! Love the roof and those Packard lights look like they were MADE for the fins.

I have to quit models for awhile....

Well, this stinks. Hope you have a fast recovery! -

now, now eric ... we get all kinds of those sleek. low and fast cars in 1/24!! I'd love to see the Fiat and Tato Nano in scale!!! Just not enough of those funky little things around IMO. -
That's insane ericmaxman!! But, I'm wondering what happened the original carrier of the new 3.7 liter .. the G37 coupe out in my driveway!!!!!!!! I'd love to see a Tamiya version of that!

If you're gonna use this as part of your presentation I would leave that roof line in for sure. How better to show what happens if it is rushed, just as you had to! And, I'm SURE everyone here will back you up when you say this was a PLANNED effect!!!

Everything on that is so subtle and good looking! Very nice!!!!

I always loved the old BMW's, but this reworked body could give me a fetish ... fantastic job on this!!!

I always had a soft spot for these as my brother had one in the 70's. That single spoke steering wheel was the utmost coolness, but when I saw him change a tire in the driveway I FELL IN LOVE!

oh yeah! and please decal it quickly so I can remove my sunglasses from that yellow sun!! ehhe looks great -
Well, I'm impressed you use the right-click menus. Some people never learn that. The trick to NOT have to use right-click, or if you can't, is highlight the text to copy and ctrl-C to copy. Then use ctrl-V to paste it where ya wants. I'm surprised a library would disable a right button. Can't imagine what they are trying to prevent.

Nothing on the East coast yet ... we'll all have to read Gregg's copy at NNL East...

ok you guys can have your fun, but I'm close to doing my first Alclad job!!!!!!!!!! but, I'm sure I'll be ok being there has been so much here lately on this topic. I picked out the answers my Magic 8-Ball liked best, shook, not stirred and the way i read it 9after my headache subsided) is... use red oxide primer first on the part when there's a 85% chance of rain Then flow massive coats of Alclad over the flat red and before it dries cover with gloss black lacquer and a last coat of Alclad so it reflects back on it self and then shines outward errrrrrr ,,,,, did I understand that right???

great looking stance.. it just looks like it wants to go forward!!!

Very nice! ... and the tower looks structurally sound.

That is astounding! The gear alone should have got you into the funny farm! Truly a work of art! ..I think the real one looks more like the model The build pics were very interesting, thanks for posting them.

Today was a BIG one .. I have been searching for 53 Buick trim for years as I didn't know who made this and when I finally found Replicas & Miniatures did I thought for some reason they were out of business. In my latest searches to locate this trim piece I finally connected and got it on order. This 49 Merc has been on my plate for over 15 years just because I refused to do it different than what was in my mind and NOW it can move forward! I expect to maybe see Norm Veber at NNL East and am SO glad it got here first.. ehhe The 56 Packard tail lights are destined for the Merc also. The distributor looks to be the hands down BEST model distributor I have EVER seen!!! The cap is cast properly with the wire holes in the "tubes", not just flat with holes in it. An amazing piece of work! I have to show a close up of this distributor!

well SURPRISE! .. I'm commenting on the Infiniti kit! I have one I'm pirating for the PE Infiniti logos in it for my G35 build. I used all the PE logos on the outside and was going to put one of the decals on the steering wheel but the decal sheet has coasted somewhere i can't locate. I'll find it eventually but have gone thru every box I can think I had open in this time. This was a good looking kit and was disappointed I have to take things from it. Maybe can do a custom or something as I'd like to build it eventually. What kind of build are you planning with it?

That has such character! (no, I'm NOT saying which one!) I for one will really miss this when it's done. As far as you're problems with Foki. maybe it's time for Photobucket. I have images parked on at least 4 or 5 of these sites and find Photobucket is really setup for using them as links from other places. Everything's already set up for every image and it's just a copy and paste.

mountaindewd builds
Foxer replied to mountaindewd's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Everything about this looks great! Fantastic detailing! There have been recent discussions about Alclad here and sure looks like you're having no problems with it. beautiful! -
cool. and I was just joking .. never meant anything by it. That's a great way to start your life on the road.

I expect this is a protector sheet for the decals. Many manufactured are finally protecting the parts.
