  1. No kidding. Me too. Still 2 more days until the traditional start of the Christmas shopping season, though.
  2. There's a Ranger body on an offroad RC car that is labelled 1/24 scale, but it looks to be a little oversized. It also has a lot of body inaccuracies and compromises. I found it a a Ross department store years ago, and don't remember the brand, but I paid maybe $8 for it. That's the only thing I know of out there.
  3. I've always wanted a "'52 Acme - straight 8 - overhead valves" from the Bugs Bunny "Bugs and Thugs" cartoon. California plates optional.
  4. Only if you have great taste when choosing curtains. Happy to enlighten you.
  5. Light is another term for a fixed window. For example, the little window you use to see if anyone is on the other side of an otherwise solid door is called a deadlight, and a window in the ceiling is called a skylight.
  6. I think it was Polar Lights who did a series of cartoon vehicles a few years back - the Simpsons' Homer, the Jetson's "car" and the Scooby Doo Mystery Machine. I haven't seen them on the hobby shop shelves recently, though.
  7. Maybe here http://public.fotki.com/jsharisky/modelhaus_resin_items/ will have a photo of them.
  8. I was born and raised in Louisville. Left at 18 to join the Navy and see the world, landed in the DC area when I got out. Hope to be back soon.
  9. An annual is a kit, generally fully detailed, that gets updated every year. MPC was one of the big producers of them. For example, the current AMT 1975 Caprice kit was originally an MPC annual. MPC would update the kit every year, changing bumpers, grilles and interiors as required.
  10. I've recently had a lot of the same issues when posting from a modern laptop. It sometimes takes multiple tries to get some stuff posted. It's good to know it's not just me. It's fun to have your browser preferences, but the fact remains that if your publicly available website has problems with one browser or another, your website is broken. This was my second attempt, too. It did the green bar thing for 30 seconds or so, saying Saving Post... in the lower right hand corner. I left the page and came back.

    60´Corvair

Nice job. I love the photo from the rear quarter.
  12. Very nice. I like the engine compartment. I found one with interior, chassis pan, and front/rear custom pieces. No chrome, windows or wheels. I'll be raiding a Ranchero kit for the missing parts except the rear window (the one in your last picture). Yours has the look I'm going for.
  13. You're very welcome. I also use "View New Content" button - it's one of my favorite forum features. During the time I am at work, I'll get 5-7 pages of new posts. I used to read everything, but have quit reading the posts that don't interest me so it doesn't take all that long to go through it.
  14. If you click on the title, it will take you to the first post. If you click on the blue dot or star to the left of the topic title, it will take you to the first post you haven't read. If you click on the date/time on the right, it will take you to the last post. If you click on the little down arrow that follows your mouse, it will show you the first and last post in the thread, and give you the option to open the topic.
  15. Clever idea! I'll have to give it a try. Thanks!
  16. Well, it's not a 32, but http://evconsultinginc.com/34ford.html ... I think this is the one I saw recently in Hot Rod or a similar magazine that is running 9 second quarter miles.
  17. Yugos seem to be a constant theme in this thread. Never had one, but heard all the jokes.... When the Yugo was introduced in the US in the mid 80s, there was a bit of excitement about them. The price was less than $4000, making it the cheapest car in the US and pretty economical. The next cheapest was the also newly introduced Hyundai (rhymes with Monday) Excel at about $5500. One of the radio stations in San Diego (maybe XTRA?) had a contest where the grand prize was a six-pack of Yugos. All you had to do was tell them what you would do with a six-pack of Yugos. I don't remember the winning entry, but the prize was awarded. She was happy to get them - this was all pre-reputation. I found the article on the LA Times website: November 25, 1987 | THOMAS K. ARNOLD - Last week, one of the strangest promotions in local radio history came to an end when progressive rock station XTRA-FM (91X) awarded 22-year-old Sonia Rodriquez its "Yugo Six-Pack": six 1988 Yugo automobiles, valued at more than $24,000. As one of a half-dozen semi-finalists, Rodriquez chose the correct key to start a Yugo--and thus won all six cars--in a drawing held at the College-area Wherehouse Records store.
  18. Computer administrator for the last 20 or so years, mostly servers and virtual machines. Before that, US Navy submariner for 15 years and logistician for 3 years. I served on SSN submarines, which is where got my board name.
  19. Very nice - I'll be watching. One of the cars I learned to drive in was my grandfather's 59 300. Manual steering and brakes, automatic, I believe it was six cylinder, solid black with a red and white reupholstered interior. I'd like to know how to contact the caster, too, especially a web site.
  20. That was my first reaction, too. I've got a 61 Falcon 2 door. The rear driver side window is shorter, and doesn't have the vertical bar. That box certainly looks like a 4 door.
  21. It can only be built pro-street. There aren't any parts to build it stock.
  22. Look, if I were joking, I would've said "what do you do with an elephant with three balls? You walk him and pitch to the rhino". The model builder part was a joke. I just haven't seen a post-1960 Foose car that had a style anything like that illustration - even the ones not for Overhaulin'. He does a great job with pre-1960 cars and original designs, though.
  23. Chip Foose couldn't make the real car look like the illustration. What chance has a model builder?
  24. I've seen it at Hobby Works in Laurel. I've seen it somewhere else, too - maybe GPA Hobbies in Crofton?
  25. I've got feelings in my teeth, too. That's why the dentist uses Novocaine before he gives me the fillings..
