  1. 200k in five years? Jeez, man, what do you do- put it up on jackstands and leave it in gear while you sleep? Seriously, though- congrats on the milestone! I used to think 200,000 was a lot of miles, nowadays if I don't get at least that much out of a vehicle I feel kind of cheated.
  2. My Falcon is an original AMT annual, but the hood and seats are resin repops by Modelhaus. AMT turned the '66-70 Falcon tooling into a modified stocker sometime in the '70's, so I doubt it'll ever be reissued.
  3. LOVE that truck, though I always have mixed feelings about these kinds of vehicles- ones with this much raw craftsmanship invested. On the one hand, I can appreciate all the work that goes into them (and as was mentioned, this guy did EVERYTHING on this truck, other than perhaps whittle the tires from solid rubber blocks), on the other hand, I feel bad because the majority of people who see this will have absolutely no idea how much blood and sweat went into it.
  4. The Chopperhead? If so, yeah it's rough... but you can still attempt something cool with it.
  5. Those came from the AMT '66 Fairlane/67 Comet kits (among others). The red lines were added with Testors Gloss Red acrylic paint.
  6. Just plain absolutely gorgeous! I especially dig the curb feelers.
  7. If they were 1:25 or 1:24 scale, the answer would be a resounding yes. Even with new products in the pipeline, the same old car, truck, and van kits get a little long in the tooth after a while, and choices for kits of such subjects in the 'bi-scale' range is pretty limited.
  8. The "new" Revell plastic kit, built in a totally out-of-character way for me... box stock. Paint is Duplicolor Hemi Orange. A nice, quick, easy buildup, 6-bolt wheels and underscale or not it looks pretty good when built if I do say so myself.
  9. Lovely model of a lovely truck!
  10. How did I know you were going to like this one?
  11. This is what Optiumus Prime should have been all along- in the old cartoon he was always a cabover. But then again, Michael Bay couldn't even get the story of Pearl Harbor right...
  12. Well, I know If I built a slot car that came out that nice, it would just become a curbside shelf model- I wouldn't want to risk mangling it!
  13. Started on this a while back...
  14. Yes, the front end and side cladding are '90=92, but the last year for the two door version was '84. Revell based this on a 1:1 lowrider that had the later style nose and rocker trim added to it. Thanks guys! I'm actually sort of happy with how this one came out- even though it was a relatively quick build of a goofball idea.
  15. Oh, that Nova chassis does indeed practically drop in- I did have to "Fordify" mine a little, though. Here it is about halfway through that process... For power I'm going with the SBF/four-speed from the '67 Mustang that coughed up its suspension bits, but fitted with EFI and a centrifugal supercharger- or maybe dual McCulloughs.
  16. You usually see this done up as a custom, a lowrider, or a donk. I wanted to do something a little bit more screwed up with it. So here's what I came up with...
  17. Just a quick buildup of some spare Willys parts, assembled around the 3.8 turbo V6 from a Monogram '89 Trans Am.
  18. Jeez, man... the way you build these, they're way too nice to actually be raced!
  19. Now that's a hell of a model! I love seeing this kit built up and weathered. I really need to get around to finishing the one I have.
  20. Here's the Falcon as of today...
  21. I'd have gladly paid $82,0000 for a Powell Homer.
  22. The AMT Super Boss and Bandag Bandit kits had that engine if I'm not mistaken. I know the AMT/Ertl Payhauler 350 has a big Detroit in it, but that one might actually be a V-16. Edit- looks like Mark beat me to it with a better answer!
  23. Kind of what I figured I'd need to do- find a suitable bench and cut the tub accordingly. Thanks for the info guys!
