  1. Take all the time you need- we'll still be here when you get back.
  2. Welcome aboard, Bill.
  3. It might eventually- I made a hood with an offset scoop for it, but the more I looked at it the more I liked it without a hood. That's the Hudson 308 with a finned cylinder head, modified intake, and dual four-barrel carbs.
  4. Today's progress... Added an electric fan... And finished out the interior...
  5. Just a quick simple project, which took about ten hours to complete. Sad thing is that said ten hours were stretched out over a two month period! It is totally box stock aside from the XS Tuning wheel/tire/brake set, and is painted Testors Flamin' Orange.
  6. Just got Kris Morgan's latest offering, a chopped-top body for the Revell '50 Olds. Casting quality is top notch- even the mold lines on the base Revell body were removed on the master. Maybe it's just me, but I hate it when I get a resin body which was based on a styrene master, and all the mold lines and sink marks are still there. You won't see that on this body! The chop looks nice- it looks just right on this car. Note that I've lowered the chassis on this example, and used Revell's replacement printed whitewall tires. The MAD body fits just as well as the stock Revell part- actually, the resin is a bit more pliable than the Revell plastic, making stretching the back of the body over the rear inner fenders just a bit easier. About all that you should need to do is cut the stock windows or make your own, other than that using this body should be no more effort than using the kit body. As you can see the kit hood fits just fine, and all the chrome trim I test-fit to the body fit just like it would with the Revell body.
  7. This was meant as a relatively quick project for the Pro Street CBP. It's the Marshall Teague kit with key elements sourced from the Revell '67 Chevelle, AMT '66 Nova, and the spares box, with a few parts box items tossed in for good measure. Paint is Testors Electric Pink.
  8. Not yet- still working on it! The Pink Hornet is done- should be pics in Under Glass sometime today.
  9. Do I even have to tell you I love this?
  10. Power for the Hudson...
  11. I wonder if the other aspect is a bit more practical- ground clearance, perhaps?
  12. I've been messing around with this kit for a month or so, and I'm really liking it! The first thing I finished was the reefer unit- I am not sure if I'll use it on the model yet or not. If not I might make a shipping crate for it and use it as 'cargo' elsewhere. The decals from Modeltruckin' are great- I'd go so far as to consider them a must for anyone who wants to do this kit as a reefer. I ordered the 2-hole Budds from Ben's Model Parts- I was REALLY happy with these! The only cleanup needed (besides removal of flash from the hub and vent holes) was some minor sanding to the outer surface of one wheel rim. No pinholes or distortion at all! The specific wheels I ordered are meant for AMT tires, but they fit the Moebius tires pretty well, though they're a snug fit. I had to trim some flash and sand the inner diameter of the tires for best fit, and I left the tires out in the sun to heat them up a bit to aid in installation. The kit will be built about 95% box stock, and I am planning on scratching up some aero skirts for it. I'll be painting it in a standard 'fleet white' (actually Ford Oxford White), as I haven't decided who's company graphics I want to add (if any) and painting it all white will leave my options open for that.
  13. Just a little FYI, Ben's 2-hole Budd wheels designed for AMT tires fit the Moebius tires with very little effort.
  14. Fun fact- that scoop is the same one Pontiac used on their factory-sanctioned drag racing cars in the '60's. Pontiac bought them from Ford and put the Ford part number into their system so it would be legit for racing.
  15. Wait until when/if I go ahead with the '80's style pink and purple 'squiggle' graphics I'm planning on adding...
  16. Just the stuff in the trunk is a work of art- this one's going to be SWEET!!!!
  17. Decided on a color for the Hudson... Testors Electric Pink.
  18. There aren't any good genres of music left anymore- everything has been run into the ground at this point. And any time somebody tries something new, it just sucks. If you don't believe me, just listen to some Dubstep...
  19. What he said. Hope things get better for you... sooner rather than later!
  20. This would be a nice update for the AMT kit, wouldn't you say?
  21. Get rid of the brand names and formulas people like, and replace them all with Testors, which has a pretty checkered reputation as far as quality goes in many people's minds. In what parallel universe does that make for a good business decision?
