  1. And I'll take the one Dan won't have room for...
  2. Love it! Fingers-crossed my next commuter car will be a Focus SVT in decent shape.
  3. Saw this on Tom Coolidge's Fotki page. It's so weird I HAD to share it... and I think I'm going to build something similar to it...
  4. The original ones were. A few years back they reissued it and it was molded in color- I think it came with a few pots of acrylic paint, a brush, and some non toxic glue as well. Not only was the plastic purple, it was also really brittle.
  5. Yes, but it might get tiring having to change your soiled britches after every spin around the block.
  6. I haven't noticed any problems with Revell's plastic being crazed by paint any more than usual (and I'm using mostly the same products and techniques as you, Bill). I HAVE noticed that some of the plastics in a handful of Revell kits are a bit harder and more brittle than what they typically use- the Monogram '77 Chevy van reissue being one. On the other hand, I had absolutely no problems at all with crazing on that harder plastic.
  7. I noticed that too, but for me that's easy enough to overlook for now.
  8. Love it! Passed on a 'basket case' S800 1:1 a few years back. I've always liked these little cars.
  9. Monogram does a stock '30 5-window (basically the same as a '31), and RMCoM does the already-mentioned chopped top body for it.
  10. Hadn't thought of that- I was going to put the wrecker body on a LoneStar with a Models By Dave resin cab.
  11. Positive thoughts going your way, Kevin.
  12. IIRC, though, these kits come with quite a few extra parts. I seem to recall either this kit or the Bill Signs kit coming with a second frame, a complete sleeper, and a headache rack among other parts. Even if they're selling for three figures, once you take that and the overall quality of the kits into consideration I don't think the prices being asked would be unreasonable at all.
  13. I saw a few of these on clearance a while back and passed on them- thanks for making me regret THAT decision! Looks pretty good now- can't wait to see it after the rebuild.
  14. Thinking of doing a Pullman and a Raymond, both Model T-based. Obviously the Pullman is more T-based than the Raymond.
  15. Supply me with the kit and I just might.
  16. Good. You know I'll be watching. And not in a creepy kind of way or anything! And what I said about Marmons applies to Big Horns as well.
  17. Nice! Those wheels really improve the look of the car.
  18. This coming from a guy who likes to post about Randy Travis and dogs....
  19. That Impala roof looks so natural on the Corvair! Wonder if it might have looked like that from the factory had GM introduced it a few years earlier.
  20. Forgot that. I wonder if they left those in there just so the buyer wouldn't feel (as) cheated. I do agree with Jim on the AITM transkit- if you ask me the truck modeling segment would be better if more guys out there were building Marmons!
  21. I see quite a few of my favorite trucks in this post.
  22. Love it- the idea and the quality of work being done.
