  1. On the other hand, at least they had the decency airbrush the seams away during that same Photoshop session- at least you'll now you're expecting them.
  2. The tank is weathered and decaled, and the roof rack is permanently in place. Spare tire rack is ready to go. Robbed some decals from an AMT C-600 and Revell '77 GMC. For whatever reason, I feel compelled to add a ton of auxillary lights to this thing. So that's exactly what I'm doing...
  3. I'm currently working on a DR built as a retired County plow truck, I'll see if I can dig it out and post some pics of what's done so far.
  4. Paint and weathering has begun, and the roof rack has been modified to fit the Hudson's roof.
  5. Lovely car apart from that top... Fantastic job on this one, Mark!
  6. Nah... 'wideside' and 'stepside' are the 'generic' terms. Fleetside is a dirty word, even for GM trucks.
  7. Speaking of... let's just say that ICM does something really nutty, and produces a Bulletnose Stude coupe, or maybe (maybe?) a '37 Coupe Express? (I know there are at least two guys on this thread who'd back me up on that last one being a good idea.)
  8. I'll second that.
  9. Yeah- engine mounts like that ALWAYS put up more of a fight than you'd expect. Love the way that front cover came out.
  10. No zombies, thanks. That whole genre is beyond worn out. I'm throwing a 'The Walking Dead is getting canceled' party next weekend.
  11. After a mishap with the body, this one got shelved. But now it's back, and I'm taking it in a slightly different direction. To recap... The completed chassis. The in-progress spares for the roof rack. And the new body... I wasn't fond of the Jimmy Flintstone phantom wagon body when it first came out, but it grew on me the more I saw it so I finally pulled the trigger on one. That roof rack is from the Ecto 1a kit- it'll need to be shortened and have the legs modified to fit better against the roof, but I think it'll work well enough.
  12. Headlights need to come down- this is how they look unmodified, from the kit- Here's a real one- note that the bottom of the headlamp bezels are about even with the bottom of the upper grille panel. And yes, the front axle is also a bit wide (as can be seen in the pic of the model). You might also want to look into changing the side step setup- from what I've seen and have been told, the ladder-type side steps used in the AMT kit weren't very common.
  13. I could certainly handle additional duties if a Bumpside is at stake.
  14. The Chevelle and the Falcon are kind of stalled. Could the third time be the charm? Yeah, I know me building a Hudson Hornet seems kind of weird, but still. So far I have added the tubs and rear frame/suspension from a Revell '67 Chevelle. The front tires and inner wheels are also from that kit, but I used the wheels from a Monogram '37 Ford street rod. I kept the stock suspension up front and modified the spindles to lower the nose a bit.
  15. Why not? Looks like it worked out pretty well.
  16. How do I get that job? Really- that would be awesome. Not only having a Bumpside kit, but having a Bumpside kit months before anybody else.
  17. What he said.... '66 or '67 model in particular.
  18. I've got another six on the burner, and it's another Hudson. Stumbled across this one fine evening... So... I robbed the supercharger from an MPC Fire Truck, and modified the Hudson manifold to fit it. The v-belt, pulleys, and blower drive are old Machined Aluminum Specialties bits I've had lying around for a while. Same story for that alternator bracket- it's from the long-gone Detail Resources. The blower belt is about twice as thick as I'd like it to be, but I'm using it anyway. So there. There is also a blower idler, carved from a strip of styrene, and eventually this will wear one of my signature finned heads and sport an MSD ignition setup. Be advised that this particular setup not only doesn't clear the hood of a stock Hornet, but it also won't fit with the radiator in its stock home, either. But that's fine, I want to put this in a hot rod with no hood. I have no idea what kind of vehicle it is going into...
  19. He posted here as LUKE'57, for those of you newer members. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showuser=2378
  20. I'll be doing likewise- the drag version was the first I head of. Even if that never comes, methinks I can use this as the basis for a decent 10.5 drag car.
  21. And the truck itself is a 10th-gen F-series, those have been out of production for nine years now.
