As has been said- the Lindberg '64 Dodge would be an ideal chassis donor. When Tom Coolidge (Promolite 2000) mastered his '61 Fury he offered an extra hood so that builders could cut it open and use that kit for the chassis. That same chassis will work under quite a few Mopars of the era- same goes for the '64 Belvedere. The engine from either of those kits would work, too.
You do realize this is a model with a styrene body... so, again, no rust...
Love how this came out, Tom. This one is my favorite of all the models I've seen built from this kit.
Feeling motivated again...
Hodge-podged the engine into something resembling almost complete.
Also picked out a wheel/tire setup- robbed these from the new Revell '62 Corvette.
The local dealer keeps regular cab duallies in stock, so depending on how you want it equipped it might be a special order, but that cab/bed configuration has always been available from Ford.
More than remotely- I've seen a few supercharged straight sixes, two of those being Hudsons. I doubt it's very practical, but it's a model, so I don't need to worry about any potential drivability problems in my case.
The clear hood always fit better for me- if you painted the clear custom hood body color it gave the car that totally smooth look that was oh-so-trendy when I first built this kit in the early '90's.
