  1. What Leo said. The cab used on the Sterling was the 'new' Louisville cab, which was introduced as a 1997 model.
  2. Olaf glonzo blarney quantum glockenspiel?
  3. Nice! Much better than the one I built a few years back (and no longer own). Though mine was basically an '86 El Camino parts donor kit, which had no engine or wheels when I got it. I didn't know what the Regal nose was from at the time, but I now think it was an old AMTsnap-together NASCAR kit. I also added a Vortec 4.3 V6 from a '95 Sonoma and some American five-spokes.
  4. Never knew IH sleeper boxes of the period were done by an outside company- I'd always assumed (I know, I know...) they were designed and built in-house. Learn something new every day. Interestingly I am thinking of trying out a Mercury sleeper on a Transtar, glad to know it would be correct for an earlier version of the rig if nothing else.
  5. And now we're up to THREE versions I'd like to build of the new ProStar kit.
  6. No, I think they clearly used two different land speed cars- the sides flanking the electric shaver don't quite match.
  7. As do I, but for whatever reason EVERY project I start ends up requiring a great deal of it. I passionately hate bodywork, but I always take on projects that need a bunch of it. I think I'd have done a two-tone for the interior- seat and door panel inserts in a matching (or close to) body color, just to break up the sea of white. Not that the all-white treatment looks bad, mind you! But all in all, very nice work on this one.
  8. I remember a reviewer in SAE saying something along the lines of "this author perceived quite a few inaccuracies in the body", but I don't remember him going into any detail as to what those inaccuracies were.
  9. Love that IH despite the rather unfetching Bronze hue it's painted.
  10. I like the paint scheme- and the wear and tear! I'm currently building one of these (mostly) box-stock as a kind of dry run for the Maxiumum Overdrive Green Goblin version I plan to build one of these days.
  11. It's fixed on the current '52 convertible as well. Just pre-ordered a couple of Olds Coupes from my local shop... I'll be waiting until after I've peeled off the shrink wrap and at least have it in the pre-paint mockup stages before I pass any final judgement upon it.
  12. Looks to be based off a '47-53 GMC truck- a couple of AMT '50 Chevy kits and a LOT of scratchbashing would have to fill in the blanks. Actually found a vintage ad for something that looks very similar- http://yngfire.com/index.php?topic=1374.30
  13. Keep the paint scheme as it is. I know the feeling- some of my best projects are ones that came along due to parts being seemingly magnetically attracted to one another.
  14. Cool! Looks like I'll be able to kill the time while I'm working out a trade for the plow truck to build the DR.
  15. By the early '60's Hudson Twin H engines had become pretty well known as budget drag engines. The July 1965 issue of Hot Rod had a pretty comprehensive article on drag racers using the Hudson six- http://home.comcast.net/~sarahdyoung/ReturnOfHudsonArticle.html Obviously a lot of guys were running Hemis and Small Block Chevs by that time, but there always had to be that small group of guys who didn't want the same powerplant everybody else was running.
  16. The surface rust effect looks very nice- and realistic. Gotta ask- is the car going to sit that low when it's finished? (Please say yes! )
  17. This is my inspriation for the Anglia- Loran Sapp's 'Little Toad', which won its class at the 1964 Winternationals. Yes, it's Hudson powered! Yes, if I have anything to say about it, my model will be Hudson powered, too! The engine I'll be using is pretty much done already- it was based on Sapp's setup. It is the one on the left.
  18. Oh, and I vote for the second set of front wheels/tires shown. They just seem to fit the overall theme and 'attitude' of the truck better.
  19. Wow. Just.... wow! Is that telephone wire for the chassis plumbing?
  20. Okay Niko... count me in with EITHER a '41 Plymouth Coupe -or- a Ford Anglia Thames. I've got some VERY solid plans that should work on either one- give me a couple days and I should have some progress and pictures to post.
  21. One more irritating question, then I'll actually get cracking on the kit. I have it on good authority that the dump bed from the Ford plow truck is a perfect fit on the White Western Star frame, with just a little modification to the rear of the rails needed. Is the built up DR pretty close in length to the Western Star, or at least have a similar amount of frame behind the cab? I do have both kits, but neither are built up so I'm not sure what fits where at the moment.
  22. Nothing to fear from any of the following... Replicas and Miniatures Company of Maryland Promolite 2000 Modelhaus Jimmy Flintstone Bandit Resins Drag City Casting Competition Resins P&P Resin Works Motor City Resin Casters Morgan Automotive Detail and a few more I'm sure I'm forgetting. Great product and better-than-great service, all of them.
  23. These are both out of production, but since you're on a bit of a roll with late model Internationals, is it too late to keep holding out hope for a kit of one (or both) of these?
  24. Like the MaxxPro? (This one is armored.)
  25. Take away the falling tree limb damage (?) on the back and it pretty much looks like my grandfather's '49 Chevy before he restored it.
