  1. I think that came from an AMT Silhouette, the rear pipes and cap are from a '64 Marauder.
  2. Started this last year, but just wrapped it up today. Body is a Revell Germany BMW 3/15 PS (which was built under licence to Austin- it was basically an Austin 7 copy, AND illegally copied in Japan as a Datsun, thus opening the door for this project), engine is a Fujimi Nissan S20 DOHC inline six, and the rest was coughed up by the spares box.
  3. Datsun's done...
  4. But, related to the post... All I need to pull off my costume is a beat up '73 Ford Gran Torino four-door. Not exactly thick on the ground in my neck of the woods. Heck, there isn't even such an animal in scale, so I can't even MODEL The Dude's car. Yeah, I could just wear the clothes, but that's the easy part.
  5. Mohs used IH chassis and drivetrains... so they can't be ALL bad.
  6. I'll save the juicy stuff for 165, but here are a few finished shots of my '53 Hornet, done in a circa-1965 mild custom style. The finished car is currently on display at Hulings Hobby House in Alma, MI.
  7. Funny how most of the Flock kits are being built into everything BUT the Tim Flock car! Not complaining, just sayin'. Very nice job on this one- the subtle weathering is a very nice touch.
  8. I always use primer on resin parts, after cleaning them thoroughly. Duplicolor automotive primer is what I use personally, it has always given me great results.
  9. Looks like the OP is banned... wouldn't hold my breath for any updates.
  10. I took a package right from the UPS driver a few weeks ago, and when I asked if I had to sign for it he said 'Nah, you're fine.' A little while later I got an e-mail from UPS telling me they could not deliver my package... the very package the UPS driver had handed me a week or so earlier.
  11. Yes... I do have a particular project in mind...
  12. Not a fan of the Chevy engine, but other than that this one's a solid A+.
  13. I sent an email to Revell asking about the mixing up of the brand names, and here is the response I got: The tooling libraries have become very mixed ever since Revell and Monogram have been under one (1) ownership (1985). Consequently, brands have become mixed. There is no hard and fast rule. Both brands have made very good, premium kits over the years. But we do try when we can to but a Revell brand on a Revell kit and a Monogram brand on a Monogram kit. Below is information that is posted on our website at www.revell.com . Look for ABOUT US then, look for BRAND HISTORY. There you will find more background history regarding our Revell and Monogram name changes and Logo changes through-out many years.
  14. I have a love/hate relationship with styrene and resin tires. Simple fact I don't like plastic tires is because the majority of them just don't look right. Now, yes, there are always exceptions- the slicks in the AMT Munster Coach and Dragula kits come to mind, but for the most part, a painted plastic tire still looks like, well, a painted plastic tire. The resin stuff from places like Modelhaus are fantastic, but I really don't want to have to buy a set of tires for everything I build! I always wondered why some kit manufacturers used a material for the tires known to react adversely to styrene. I've been hearing of this problem for years, I've even seen the results of it firsthand, but the practice continues. But then again- GM used to love bolting steel up to thin aluminum. Aluminum and steel don't react to well together either... that's why you used to see so many RWD Delta 88s and Cutlass Supremes missing the rear bumper.
  15. As the owner of a 1:1 '67 Fury, a guy who likes AWB drag cars, and a guy who likes seeing the AWB treatment on unorthodox subjects, I'd call this one a win all around.
  16. Love it! I'll have to track down that metal grille- I'll need it for at least one. (The other will have its grille covered up by a Green Goblin. )
  17. "Oh, my bad! Thought Keanu Reeves was on a creeper underneath."
  18. Yeah, the same way the Cummins and Cat sponsored cars ran Cummins and Cat engines, repectively. Nah, that's just more of NASCAR's world-famous product placement in action.
