  1. Love that turbo plumbing.
  2. That can't be the Big D's skyline in the background. Striking, to say the least!
  3. Love the look... Mercury should have produced this!
  4. "Smart campaign" and "Eminem" do not belong in the same paragraph, sorry. And would someone PLEASE inform Chrysler that Auburn Hills is NOT Detroit? Somebody needs a geography lesson.
  5. Cleanly done, and love that color!
  6. Not anymore- Ford sold Aston Martin in 2007. Looks like they might have kept a few of the people from the styling department, though.
  7. Much of it, yes- obviously the bed and chassis plate are different. I believe some of the original kits were 4wd as well. The bed is available in resin.
  8. Is it just me or do the new Fords look an awful lot like Aston Martins.
  9. FORGET about them! It's a kit, kits are SUPPOSED to be built.
  10. Of course! That Datsun above has stalled maybe five or six times.
  11. Where things sit as of now.
  12. No, that's still a Scout II. Other than cutting off the roof, it would be just as much work to convert that into a first-gen Scout as the Ertl kit. I do have that transkit though, and it is nice.
  13. I've actually seen the N-10 built up, and compared to images of 1:1 N-10s I have seen (I've never actually seen an N-10 in person), it looks pretty good. Most of the 1:1 images I've seen have a step in the rear of the fenders (the part attached to the cab) which the kit lacks, but that might be correct for some years.
  14. Copo has a bench seat, plain 1969 grille and taillamp panel, in addition to what Casey described. It also has a flat hood (the SS and cowl hoods are not included), but the SS buckets and grille are still included in the COPO kit.
  15. Well, dug out a long-forgotten project earlier today... or was that late yesterday...? Whatever. Here it is- This is a 1932 Datsun roadster. The body is a Revell Germany BWW 2/15 Dixi, which was produced by BMW in Germany under licence to Austin... it was basically a duplicate of the Austin 7, which was sort of like England's Model T Ford. But here's the thing... the design was also copied and produced, illegally, by Datsun in Japan. Since I had the Fujimi Parts Pack Nissan S20 DOHC inline six, I used that for power. The frame is scratchbuilt, as are the floor pan and interior bulkheads. The steering wheel and now non-existant Racing Mate decals also came from that parts pack. I wasn't happy with the paint on this, and when I got to looking, the passenger's side door (left in this case as the car will be RHD). So I stripped it and redid both doors. While I was at it, I also made up a new floor and drivetrain bulge, and a new dashboard. I'm thinking I will run a track nose off a Revell Midget up front, but nothing is carved in stone. Should have some updated pics soon.
  16. Another fun little tidbit....The average American walks about 900 miles a year. The average Americans drink 22 gallons of alcohol a year. That means the average American gets about 41mpg.
  17. Thanks! It DOES look like a pretty good kit if you're only going by the box art.
  18. I have one of these kits... for parts. I'm planning on making a somewhat more accurate '70 AAR using the decent parts off of this kit with a Monogram '71 Hemi 'Cuda.
  19. Not exact, but it'll do.
  20. AWESOME! If you do sent this out to be cast, I can guarantee I'll buy one.
  21. Maybe Chevy is just depressed. You know, the whole bankruptcy thing and all...
  22. Makes me wonder if they'll bring back the Aurora, Advent, Renwal, and Hubley brand names and start slapping those on every random reissue. Hobbico? It's called BRAND MANAGEMENT.
  23. I SHOULD hate this car. I love the Cord, not so much a fan of the Vette. Seeing the two melded together should disgust me. But you know what? I'm really liking the way this one is coming together. Even though this is a totally different design, it kind of reminds me of Joel Dirnberger's Shark, a narrowed Sting Ray Vette body on bobbed '32 Chevy fenders. (For those who don't recall that one, it's the blue machine in the lower right corner- http://www.joeld.net/home.shtm ). Maybe it's just the unexpected synergy of elements from two entirely different automotive eras working so well together. I don't know what it is, but I like it.
