  1. Not a fan of the Chevy engine, but other than that this one's a solid A+.
  2. I sent an email to Revell asking about the mixing up of the brand names, and here is the response I got: The tooling libraries have become very mixed ever since Revell and Monogram have been under one (1) ownership (1985). Consequently, brands have become mixed. There is no hard and fast rule. Both brands have made very good, premium kits over the years. But we do try when we can to but a Revell brand on a Revell kit and a Monogram brand on a Monogram kit. Below is information that is posted on our website at www.revell.com . Look for ABOUT US then, look for BRAND HISTORY. There you will find more background history regarding our Revell and Monogram name changes and Logo changes through-out many years.
  3. I have a love/hate relationship with styrene and resin tires. Simple fact I don't like plastic tires is because the majority of them just don't look right. Now, yes, there are always exceptions- the slicks in the AMT Munster Coach and Dragula kits come to mind, but for the most part, a painted plastic tire still looks like, well, a painted plastic tire. The resin stuff from places like Modelhaus are fantastic, but I really don't want to have to buy a set of tires for everything I build! I always wondered why some kit manufacturers used a material for the tires known to react adversely to styrene. I've been hearing of this problem for years, I've even seen the results of it firsthand, but the practice continues. But then again- GM used to love bolting steel up to thin aluminum. Aluminum and steel don't react to well together either... that's why you used to see so many RWD Delta 88s and Cutlass Supremes missing the rear bumper.
  4. As the owner of a 1:1 '67 Fury, a guy who likes AWB drag cars, and a guy who likes seeing the AWB treatment on unorthodox subjects, I'd call this one a win all around.
  5. Love it! I'll have to track down that metal grille- I'll need it for at least one. (The other will have its grille covered up by a Green Goblin. )
  6. "Oh, my bad! Thought Keanu Reeves was on a creeper underneath."
  7. Yeah, the same way the Cummins and Cat sponsored cars ran Cummins and Cat engines, repectively. Nah, that's just more of NASCAR's world-famous product placement in action.
  8. Love that turbo plumbing.
  9. That can't be the Big D's skyline in the background. Striking, to say the least!
  10. Love the look... Mercury should have produced this!
  11. "Smart campaign" and "Eminem" do not belong in the same paragraph, sorry. And would someone PLEASE inform Chrysler that Auburn Hills is NOT Detroit? Somebody needs a geography lesson.
  12. Cleanly done, and love that color!
  13. Not anymore- Ford sold Aston Martin in 2007. Looks like they might have kept a few of the people from the styling department, though.
  14. Much of it, yes- obviously the bed and chassis plate are different. I believe some of the original kits were 4wd as well. The bed is available in resin.
  15. Is it just me or do the new Fords look an awful lot like Aston Martins.
  16. FORGET about them! It's a kit, kits are SUPPOSED to be built.
  17. Of course! That Datsun above has stalled maybe five or six times.
  18. Where things sit as of now.
  19. No, that's still a Scout II. Other than cutting off the roof, it would be just as much work to convert that into a first-gen Scout as the Ertl kit. I do have that transkit though, and it is nice.
  20. I've actually seen the N-10 built up, and compared to images of 1:1 N-10s I have seen (I've never actually seen an N-10 in person), it looks pretty good. Most of the 1:1 images I've seen have a step in the rear of the fenders (the part attached to the cab) which the kit lacks, but that might be correct for some years.
