  1. I've broken a few en route to shows, but so far nothing major. The only ones I've destroyed beyond repair are the ones that never leave the display room. "Dusting Mishaps" mostly.
  2. So.... basically all three notchback bodies are turkeys, even though they all look like Fox Notchbacks to me. I'm not holding my breath for Revell to pop a notchback, personally. And even if they do, who's to say it won't be as flawed as any of the existing resin bodies?
  3. I've heard that kit isn't too tough to assemble IF you ignore the instruction sheet and assemble it in the way that seems logical to YOU. What the guy meant by a way logical to me is a bit unclear, but I do have one of these (1970's Testors issue), and I'm thinking of giving it a go. And yeah- that Perry's Coupe is something I've wanted for a while, but I'm not buying one due to what I've heard about his order turnaround.
  4. The IMC coupe kit? Godspeed to anyone who wants to mess with that thing!
  5. Yeah- those last three letters make me have to bite my tongue every time.
  6. Yep- first the distributors will get them, then they'll send them out to the shops. Could be another month- I hope not, but at least they're hitting the shores!!!!
  7. That's what Dean's, the local hole in the wall shops, and the internet is for!
  8. That's how I feel about contests of all kinds. Don't 'get' them, don't attend them, don't want any part of them.
  9. Modelhaus makes exactly that animal.... downside is $85 bucks a pop.
  10. To be fair, Tom, I think it's looking pretty good without any of the Coupe parts added. Be that as it may, curious to see what you'll do with it.
  11. No kit, but I have seen some 'curbside'-style replicas of it. The company was called 'Hollywood Collectibles'. I know for a fact they did a diorama, but I don't know if they sold the cars individually. I have seen just the cabs, but I can't say if they're made by HC or not. http://hollywood-collectibles.com/fifth_element_cars.html
  12. Saw this a year or two ago headed out to Midland, MI. It's a '45 Federal truck. Looked to have some newer chassis parts, but no engine in it at all.
  13. Except for Star Wars collectors, I'd have to agree!
  14. Seems that's the way the term is most commonly used, yes.
  15. Those are the ones! The one I'm thinking of is bottom row on the left.
  16. I think I need to build one of these 'workshops' everybody has!
  17. A- Hey, records and cassettes had different stuff on each side, why not? I once saw a 1:1 '40 Ford with modern big-inch billets on one side and 15" steelies and whitewalls on the other, so it's not impossible! B- Yep. Don't recall what issue- but you showed a bunch of different wheel cover treatments on a green Revell Merc... oh, must have been a year, year and a half or so ago.
  18. Not to knock the Dudek Sombreros (which are undeniably cool), how about those Replicas and Miniatures '61 Buick covers?
  19. Chris is right... even though no such vehicle was ever used on Dark Shadows. Apparently somebody at MPC thought it would be a good tie-in anyway.
  20. Not sure on the skirts- if they were a bit longer it would be a definite yes.
  21. That's it. I'm done. Time to find a new hobby. I hear basketweaving is pretty fun...
  22. Back when I was working in a repair shop, a few customer's cars actually did look like that inside.
  23. Model, not Metal, but Aaron's on the mark. I think they did a four-door '49 Ford as well, early versions had incorrect 'sucide' rear doors. That one might have had a metal body, though.
  24. Looking really good so far.
