  1. I don't build many race car models, but I'm very interested.
  2. It does, but read the label carefully- some of the newer fluids will not strip paint. Check the label, and if it says something to the effect of "Avoid contact with painted surfaces", you're in business.
  3. Are those old boxer short remnants I see? That's shaping up to be very cool.
  4. I had Hollywood Hot Rods' website in the other tab when I was reading this thread- guess that's it!
  5. "Motor City". Why'd I say Hollywood? But yeah, they do look a lot better stripped and refinished- the engraved lettering stands out a LOT better.
  6. Like it so far!
  7. THe Convert. has Hollywood heads and air cleaner housing, and a three two intake with separate carbs. I think it has headers, too, but I'm not totally sure.
  8. If only modern-day Pirates had this kind of style and swagger.
  9. 'Bling' reaches a whole new level.
  10. I was just looking up P-51s online today, and the Wikipedia entry on this one said it had been involved in a crash on September 16, 2011. I thought "Wait... that's today!" Did a little web searching and found out...
  11. Looks like they need to keep working on it.
  12. Only HH items Ive used were the lowrider lo-pro whitewalls and wire wheel set (not sure what the part number was).
  13. I've been told (and its been mentioned) that the markings on the existing M&H slicks aren't correct (M&H never had white letters) but a lot of guys liked to paint the letters by hand with whitewall paint. I've seen redline pie crust slicks in 1:1, not sure if they were M&H or not.
  14. Just do trades for large groups of random kits- that's how I do it!
  15. I've stopped myself quite a few times- when I type, it's basically just going straight to my fingers from my brain. And if I'm in a less than stellar mood, a colorful word or two might pop up in the old mental stream. But I'm not going to go out and type it, or use the pound symbols. Speaking in person, now, that's a totally different matter!
  16. That's right- those Briggs motors are pretty tough! The weirdest thing of all... five feet of water in the basement, and the fridge down there was still running...
  17. I don't want these tires. I NEED these tires.
  18. That one's actually in even more pieces now than it was when I got it!
  19. Being that I've wanted a full-detail Hudson kit for as long as I can remember (and a real Hudson for longer than that), believe me you- I'll be DEVOURING these things as they become avaialble.
  20. As far as #1, it is possible- that's happened to me trying that method to fill in the scribes. I like to use Bondo 2-part putty for this. Once the area is primed, I apply the putty to the area and sand it smooth. If the area has a 'textured' look to replicate insulation, I spray it with textured paint to restore the appearance after the scribe lines are filled and sanded smooth.
  21. The roof looks just plain AWESOME... and the 'broken' wood panels look promising- can't wait to see the body paint detailed!
  22. What do you think- maybe rekindle one of these projects? MPC '32 Chevy Panel AMT Deuce 5-window converted to a chopped 3 window many moons ago by persons unknown. Or.... This nightmarish '58 Ford hardtop?
  23. Nah- I just have those on 'Workbench' threads. Kind of want to do something just for this build. The Plymouth pretty much looks like it did the last you guys saw it, the Lincoln is just dismantled with the skirts off now.
  24. They're so much more adorable before the life-force is sucked out of them-
  25. Wow- a Dark Crystal reference? Awesome.
