  1. Not I this year, I'm afraid.
  2. There actually was a turbo Caravan factory produced in the late '80's. Not quite sure how they'd stack up to this one. They were even available with a five-speed. A friend of mine's mom had one with the automatic.
  3. Pretty much all the skin is different (if you are talking about Monte vs Cutlass). A Cutlass front end will bolt on to the Monte- a local guy had one, and it looked just as tacky as you imagine! But all Cutlasses did have the same sheetmetal from those years. Wouldn't mind a '77 Cutlass either, if that's what it is. Might have to email Steve and ask him what's what. Same here, but I have always had a soft spot for the Rockets. My buddy Paul still has the '78 he had in high school ten years ago- I never even noticed this body style until Paul bought his.
  4. Finished this about three months ago, still not sure what it will end up towing yet.
  5. Did not see a pic of it on Steve's site, but for 27 bucks it might be worth checking out. Not that R&R stuff is ever fantastic quailty wise, but since I'm planning a conversion it might not be a big deal.
  6. Just wondering if anyone does a body or trans kit for one of these. And if not, any interest? I do have reference pretty close at hand ^^^^, and I'm thinking of reworking an MPC Monte Carlo if I can't find a read-made solution.
  7. If Olds had kept building stuff with this much style, they'd probably still be around. Very nice.
  8. For those in the 1:25 camp, the offical MAD website image and info on the '79 Notch- http://www.madmodeling.com/store/ccp0-prodshow/79muscoupe.html I have not yet had the chance to have one in my hands, but I think this is the one I'm getting. It appears to be a pretty complete transkit, its 1:25 (making it more consistent with 90% of my other models), and represents the earlier style nose and taillamp treatment. Nothing against the '87-up styles, I just prefer the earlier designs myself.
  9. Guess who's ordered a couple of these. (Yeah, me!)
  10. It's Saturday SOMEWHERE, right?
  11. There's an STS, but I don't think there's a CTS, at least not in resin or plastic.
  12. Somebody said pro street. Here's an extreme example-
  13. Today we're in the thick of the ProTouring/Restomod trend-
  14. It wouldn't hurt, but I seriously doubt anyone would notice this. Personally I'd focus more of my efforts on the more visible aspects. I really don't think anyone would even notice the difference in scale widths unless they had a caliper handy.
  15. Yep, had one of those in auto shop, but all I had were a bunch of shorter ones!
  16. When I was changing the clutch in my '84 Cherokee, I could NOT get to the top trans bolts, but I found that once I had it up on the hoist, about four feet worth of extensions and a swivel socket were just what the doctor ordered.
  17. When I see one with a tonneau I think "why didn't you just buy a sedan?". When I see one with a topper I think "Why didn't you just buy an SUV?" Maybe it's a 'want over need' kind of thing, I guess.
  18. Brett- didn't know you could build out of box! I'll be looking forward to seeing this one come together.
  19. Great progress, really digging the chop! Oh, Terry- some Mercury truck pics and info- http://www.mercurypickup.com/
  20. I'm going totally from memory on this, but I think its mostly the same as the '63 Bus and Type 2 pickup, meaning its a curbside but has a pretty good chassis and body. I don't think it comes with any interior side panels, though. Pics of the Bus- http://public.fotki.com/ChuckMost/kit-contents/hasegawa/63-volkswagen-type-/
  21. Worse than the SUV fad (to me anyway) are all these crew cab trucks with four-foot-long beds. What's the point? You clearly are more worried about passenger carrying capability than cargo space... so buy a sedan! This only applies to the short/short bed crew cabs, crew cabs with regular 'short' beds and long beds actually make sense to me.
  22. I've used Scratch X before foil quite a bit. Not only is it workable, the foil sticks much better to a polished surface.
