1/24 Revell '70 Plymouth Superbird
Chuck Most replied to Mr. Moparman's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
The C-posts on the Revell body do look a little 'dainty' compared to the 1:1- looks to me like the rear edge of the quarter window opening follows the slope of the backlight a bit more than the 1:1. Seems like it would be fairly easy to graft in a 'dogleg' wedge to the back edge of the window opening to fix the c-pillar issue. -
Now that I've seen the thing, I'd build it!

LOVE that Morgan! -
I can look past the lack of plug wires- this model is gorgeous. I love overpowered, traditionally-styled A roadsters so I do admit some degree of bias, but still a fantastic job in my view.

Wonder if that Slovak monarch ever sent in a resume to Gregg... -
Can anyone ID the caster of this '50 Nash?

Well, yeah! -
And possibly open the hood and stuff a huffed Jeep V8 under there!

I don't know much about it, other than it's resin, and appears to be based off a promo chassis/body with a vacuum formed window unit and an interior cast from a hand-built master. I know Modelhaus casts a '50 Nash, but I'm not sure that's what this one is.

Just got this as part of a trade- looks to be based off a promo body and chassis, with a scratchbuilt-master interior and vacuum-formed glass. I know Modelhaus makes one, but I've never seen one. It is cast in a very light tan resin, and has thick, promo-style metal axles at both ends, and the chrome parts are all plated. I'd appreciate any help!

Well, didn't get a Rambler today, but I got something from the people who brought us the Rambler today...

The only times I wash a kit before assembly is when I am working with a resin kit. And I do this before ANY sanding or excessive handling of the parts.otherwise you'll grind the mold release right into the surface and NEVER have any shot at good paint adhesion. As far as plastic kits? I ususally don't bother washing them, unless the wet-sanding after a quick primer mist (to check for and correct any mold seams/sink marks/etc.). Old glue bombs and early kits covered in various GUNK of course get a thourough cleaning, but I never clean new kit parts.

Nothing epically rare, but I do have my points of pride! -
It hit central Michigan today, so I'm assuming the more civilized parts of the country should be getting it any time now. I've only thumbed through it so far, but liking what I see.

You know- I might have one of those campers laying around... might have to see how it fits! -

To me that's an even bigger bummer than the lack of Roadrunner markings. -

Thanks! Odd looking setup, but I like it. -

Did a bit more in the Frankenplymouth- cut down the wagon roof, and grafted in the pickup box floor and sides from a Chevy C1500 longbed. Still needs some fine tuning and body work, but it's taking shape. -

Big rig neophyte question- what the heck is a drom? -
It's pretty much all '32 Chevy under the psuedo-hearse bodywork- if nothing else, there's plenty of usable parts for restoring a built up Cabro or panel. All of the original suspension parts are in the Vampire Van kit, and those parts are ALWAYS broken on the rare old built-ups you see.
