  1. Nothing epically rare, but I do have my points of pride!
  2. It hit central Michigan today, so I'm assuming the more civilized parts of the country should be getting it any time now. I've only thumbed through it so far, but liking what I see.
  3. Same reason I'll gladly hang onto the Ford F-250 I drive now, and paid for, and give somebody back the keys to the brand-new Silverado they're trying to give me... like what I have better than the alternative.
  4. You know- I might have one of those campers laying around... might have to see how it fits!
  5. Mini-Duck! Awesome. (Emoticon indicating "killer-mini-duck-model" here.)
  6. To me that's an even bigger bummer than the lack of Roadrunner markings.
  7. Thanks! Odd looking setup, but I like it.
  8. Did a bit more in the Frankenplymouth- cut down the wagon roof, and grafted in the pickup box floor and sides from a Chevy C1500 longbed. Still needs some fine tuning and body work, but it's taking shape.
  9. Big rig neophyte question- what the heck is a drom?
  10. It's pretty much all '32 Chevy under the psuedo-hearse bodywork- if nothing else, there's plenty of usable parts for restoring a built up Cabro or panel. All of the original suspension parts are in the Vampire Van kit, and those parts are ALWAYS broken on the rare old built-ups you see.
  11. I want two so I can make the V-12!
  12. Roger- I actually have one of those kits (Okey Spaulding era reissue) and it includes steps on converting the kit into a pickup AND four-door sedan. Not sure how I'm going to build mine just yet. Cranky- Taking a nasty, disgusting glue bomb and turning it into a thing of beauty? Way better feeling than starting with a fresh kit.
  13. Then, he saw John Teresi's Cosma Ray Vette and broke his no-emoticon policy... FIVE TIMES!!!! But, I suppose he's earned it!
  14. Yep the AMT reissue has all the MPC street rod parts, but they returned the seat upholstery engraving to stock. THe AMT kit has all the hot rod parts, but they arent' mentioned on the box.
  15. Ditto- that's why I went with a Fotki page. Yeah, Photobucket is free, but you get what you pay for, right?
  16. I've never built one out of box, but the '33 Panel is very nice. The majority of the parts are shared with the Cabriolet- the body, rear doors, windows, and floor are about the only major differences between the kits. I'd love to see Round 2 tool up a new Panel body for the Cabriolet kit... heck, throw in the original Gangbusters parts, too, if the demand is there!
  17. The A-Team vans were reissued not too long back, and they're still pretty cheap. But yeah, you do have to look for deals on the van kits. (Great score on the Ford and Dodge by the way, Steve! Especially the Ford, that's a SCREAMING deal!) I paid 40 a few years back for an MPC 'Wanted Van' (similar to the Rescue 911 van but with the correct grille), and felt like I made off like a bandit on that one.
  18. It MUST be good, it actually forced Danno to break his "No Emoticons Policy"... FIVE TIMES! Fantastic model, John. Kind of reminds me of that Moon Rocket T-Bird custom I saw in HRD a while back.
  19. You know- like I said, if it were mine.
  20. If I were building it, I think I'd nix the covered headlights and just black out the bezels, then maybe find some photoetch sheet with a 'honeycomb' pattern to use for the grille. However you end up doing it, it'll be cool in my book!
  21. Awesome! And kudos for keeping the Nailhead.
  22. I can always use spare Lincoln stuff!
