  1. This is just the old Academy kit, with some XS Tuning wheels and tires and a sealed-beam headlight conversion. Decals came from the AMT '77 Pacer wagon.
  2. Relieved to see this- I thought Heller was in receivership?
  3. Turned mine into a pickup... And used the graphics on something even crappier, a Hyundai Pony...
  4. I have the '83 MPC Annual version of the kit, and I intend on doing a box-stock build of the box art car. When will we see these back in Retro Deluxe packaging from Round 2?
  5. I kind of wondered if all the Revell kits had the 429 but one was mis-identified. I've only ever had the Cobra so I didn't want to say for sure it had the same engine or not.
  6. It's only one piece, but the '65 stepside C10 has a hitch. I'm guessing it would fit onto this kit with no real drama.
  7. I've gotten two replies from Revell... both e-mails telling me the parts were on the way. I got both e-mails on the same day the parts arrived in the mail.
  8. You're very welcome, Terry!
  9. That would be my choice, or order the 385 from Calnaga.
  10. Yeah- 427 would be an FE. Altogether different design than the 385 and pretty close to what's already in the AMT kit (though more detailed).
  11. Revell Torino Cobra... I guess it's a '70 now that I think of it. Revell also did a 70 Torino GT but I'm not sure if that had a 385-series big block in it or not.
  12. A scale kit of a Suburban. That only took, what, 81 years? On a serious note, I've already thought of a couple of things I could do with it...
  13. The Monogram F250 and F350 have a 460, it is an '87-'91 style with EFI but it could be backdated to an earlier type fairly easily. It is 1:24 scale. In 1:25, the Revell '69 Torino Cobra has about the best 385-series big block ever made in kit form. I would go with the one from the Torino. If I'm not misaken, Calnaga castings does a pretty nice Lima 385- they list it as a 429 but the 429 and 460 were essentially the same engine.
  14. Buzzkills. Buzzkills everywhere....
  15. Hate it when I go to a car show and end up buying a condo...
  16. Tim's latest- a '66 Reo with scratchbuilt gravel trailers. The cab started as a Diamond T, and Tim modified the grille to the REO unit.
  17. Beautiful.
  18. P&P Resin Works had one at one time, not sure if they're still casting it though.
  19. Thanks guys, the actual color is Model Master acrylic Earth Flat- it does look awfully close to the bland earth tones that were available on cars like these.
  20. Love it! The wheels from the ALF look great on so many other projects. The entire conversion is fantastic!
  21. "Uuuuugggghhhhhh.... it's not fastback with Torq-Thrusts! Uuuuuggggghhhhhh... those wheels! Uuuuuggggghhhhhh.... that BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH is for rice rockets. Uuuuggggghhhhh... why can't it still be the '60's. Uuuuuuggggghhhhhh..... I forgot to pick up my Geritol and Delcolax when I was at Walgreen's AND NOW I'M IRRITABLE AND I HATE EVERYTHING MODERN!!!!!1!!!! And while I'm glad you're wearing your hat the right way, LEARN TO ROLL THE FRIGGIN' BILL!!!!" On a more serious note, yeah, the graphics are a bit much, but I'm guessing that's the whole idea.
  22. Beats another LS swap.
  23. Absolutely love it. I really hope the molds for this one are stashed away in some deep dark corner somewhere, waiting to be stumbled upon by the Kats at AMT.
  24. Caramel flavored, too.
