  2. Dave is correct, all those tools apparently fell into a black hole somewhere in China when Testors obtained them for the HSO series. That would include the Pro-street AMX, 69 Rambler, 71 Cuda, 71 Comet and 70 Olds 442. Now get ready to be really confused, Lindberg obtained the rights to all of Testors Plastic kits around the time they announced the Dodge Charger Police car kits. (one of many delays on that project) Those rights passed to Round 2 when they purchased Lindberg. So in theory if they were ever found they could be packaged as AMT kits. IIRC, the AMX and the Olds were already released once as AMT Funny car kits. So if Dave ever did decide to do an AMC kit he would probably have to start from scratch ...... which is probably not a bad idea. -Steve

It was a number of your Mopar build up articles over the years which got me interested in them in the first place. A lot of my methods are based on your how-to's articles.   5. To the best of my knowledge the 65 B-bodies Plymouth and Dodges still used the Push button Automatic shifter on the Right side of the dash unless ordered with a floor shifter. That detail is included on both the Satellite and the Belvedere kits as Moebius is carrying over that part with no changes. Although nobody has mentioned it yet, the Moebius Belvedere Sedan kit will be about 95% correct to build a Factory Police package 2 Dr. sedan once the single 4bbl parts are added. Those buckets seat were available on both the 2 and 4 door Police cars in 1965 as well as the manual transmission option. Only the modern tires and the cut out exhaust would be wrong. Steve
  6. Actually it is the original proposal buildup that was on display at iHobby 2009. It's just a little late .... Per John G. all the Super Stock parts for this kit are new tooling due to bad planning from when Lindberg first designed these kits. Their 64 Plymouth and Dodge kits were completely separate tooling. They were never designed to share parts between the two. That's always been the reason for the delays. -Steve

  8. Thanks everyone for all the nice complements on the Ranger Pickup. I forgot to include a chassis shot so here it is ..... It's not noticeable in the photo but I did remove the lug nuts from the spare wheel and drilled out the lug holes. -Steve
  9. I have, if you want an accurate 70 Hardtop neither one is great. The AMT kit is the Yankee Challenger with a new hood, IIRC. The Revell kit has some decent detail if you can get past the terrible body proportions. I couldn't and traded it away after I took these photos. Take a look ..... That's the Revell 70 Challenger in the center, Lindberg's 71 HT is on the left and the AMT ragtop is on the right. Clearly the Revell body is bigger then 1/25th scale. The Revell kit overall shape almost makes the Palmer based Lindberg 71 Challenger look good. The Revell kit is on the bottom here ... To my knowledge there's no out of the box way to build an accurate and detailed 1/25th 70 Challenger HT from a single kit. -Steve
  10. Since I was painting the firewall body color I went ahead and attached it the cab early in the build. I had to do some minor adjusting to the top of the firewall to align the cowl to the hood rear edge. Also my hood had the slightest twist to it. Nothing that some hot tap water and some counter twisting could fix. Best to catch that stuff early then waiting to the final assembly. I think it fits great now .... Steve
  11. It's custom mixed PPG lacquer to match 71 Ford code Q winter blue metallic. I'm lucky to live within reasonable driving distance of a PPG Paint supplier that still has a lacquer mixing unit. Handy but expensive .... I'm curious on what paints are available in Europe. Is lacquer still sold there ? Steve

  13. Outstanding build Chuck, very realistic weathering! One question as I don't know Medium Duty Trucks all that well. Is that a C600 series or F600 series truck as the subject title says ? I like it regardless ... Steve
  14. I finally finished it..... I started this one back in May with an early production sample courtesy of Moebius Models. Other then some kits bashed whitewall and battery decals, it's an out of the box build. Everything else was done with paint and foil trim. You can see the build up in the "On the workbench" section.   17. Model Master Acrylic Ford Engine Blue tinted with some White to match my reference photos. Steve
  18. It's all airbrushed PPG lacquers. Colors are '71 Ford Code C Pure White and Code Q Winter Blue Metallic top-coated with PPG Duracyl 468 High Performance Clear. I ordered the paints from my local PPG store but I'm sure you can get them from MCW or other similar suppliers. -Steve
  19. Almost to the home stretch, here's the chassis only needing the wheel covers to finish. The interior is completed and ready to install .... Here's the body parts foiled and clear coated ........ After polishing and with the glass installed. I had to repaint the roof as I polished through the first time ..... And finally the bed is completed other then the side trim and painting the reflectors. Next time I'll start on the final assembly. -Steve
  20. Yes, the Lindberg Plymouth roof is noticeably too short. I looked at the P/L Coronet too, it's better then the Lindberg kit. IMHO. nobody got the B-body Hardtop roof 100 % correct. Steve
  21. Here's how the rear axle looks in the finished model, I agree it's a little undersized but you can't see that it's hollow once it's all together. Two suggestions if you can't live with it is you could swap out the rear axle from the Polar Lights 65 Dodge Coronet. It's the same style but a little larger. I think that one's also molded hollow. The Lindberg 64 Plymouth or Dodge's would also work but I believe those kits have the Dana style rear axles. Both kits are pretty common to find if you don't have them already. Steve
