  1. The Tonneau cover was retooled and restored back to the latest issue AMT1328, along with a new set of K-H wheels for those who want to build a '66 Sport Roadster. -Steve
  2. The original kit had a one-piece plated grille and bumper assembly with molded in headlamps. The new kit has an un-plated grille, separate chrome bumper and clear headlights. Grille part should be painted argent and black except for the Sizzler which has body color surrounds. Also note the two-piece front bucket seats, the backs are on the tree next to the hood scoops. Chris was confused on what those parts were. -Steve
  3. There are actually two containers on the water right now. Not sure if they will be in distribution before Christmas though. Right after the New Year is more likely. -Steve
  4. AMT originally made three different Full size 1961 Ford kits, a Sunliner Convertible, Starliner Hardtop, both with engines and the curbside Club Victoria we still have today. I believe the first two were updated with the next round of annual kits into the 1962 Galaxies. The Starliner is the hardest one to find. I don't see us modifying the '61 Club Victoria kit into an opening hood with engine kit, the pending release is unchanged parts wise. On paper, we could modify the '60 Starliner into a '61 carrying over a lot of parts, but as pointed out modifying the Mueller era kits are difficult. It would be easier to clone one of the annual Ford kits we no longer have, but which one? The '67 seems to have the most requests, I like the '62 annual, and the '61 Starliner is pretty cool. I may only get one shot at bringing back a full-size Ford kit in the future, so I'm going to have to give this further thought. -Steve
  5. Correct, same Kit molded in white with a new box that resembles the '61 annual kits, decals, etc -Steve
  6. The kit represents a '71 R/T with the aftermarket Stage V Hemi conversion for the 440, not a factory produced Hemi car. We're not calling it a Super Bee either. I've already noted a number of possible changes that could be made for a future version, however this version is set. It was shown for a preview of what's coming with it. -Steve
  7. Hi Ken, This version of the "71 Charger R/T is different from the former Street Machine version is that it doesn't include the custom wheels, larger tires or lowered suspension. The idea was to pick the best parts from the two previous versions and combine them into a new package. So, it will include the Air Grabber Hood, Stage V Hemi and the Slotted Exhaust tips. Box will feature new artwork by Brad Leisure. -Steve
  8. On the Chrysler '57 Chrysler 300 Custom, the parts are a straight from the last Custom Issue in 2006. I'm hoping that the new packaging will show it's features better like the Cadillac Sabre wheels which were not shown before. The new expanded decal sheet will have some Larry Watson inspired flame graphics and other goodies. -Steve
  9. I initially was leaning toward updating the Mueller era '71 Duster kit into a Dodge Demon, but those kits all pre-date the use of 3D files. Watching the struggle to modify the '67 Impala SS tooling into the Supernatural 4 door, and still keep all of the original tooling intact was a real eye opener. Once I factored in the price tag and how long that one took, the decision to clone the original MPC version became the clear choice. As a bonus, we now have the ability to easily expand it to other variations of the MPC Mopar A-bodies that shared a lot of the same basic design which I've already started working toward. I'm not going to give any further clues on what those projects may or may not be, but I've got some great possibilities. Although I do appreciate the being recognized for my contributions, it really is team effort from by everyone at both Round2 and our overseas partners who do most of the design work, tooling and literally all the heavy lifting. -Steve
  10. Thanks for the compliment, I appreciate all the support that I have received. I'm well aware of the issues with the '58 Fury body trim and the wrong interior in the '66 Buick. I wish I was the one who is writing the checks for these projects, but I'm not. Both are kind of tough sell compared to bringing back an old favorite muscle car or creating a new tool item but never say never. I have been able to fix a few things here and there when combined with a new release, for example I was able to get the nose area of the 70 Chevelle SS fixed recently as part of bringing out the John Wick version. So, installing the front bumper, grille and headlamps into the body is no longer a fight. Restoring all the chrome and gasser parts for the '55 Nomad was another one I managed to get support for, so there always chance for the others. Expanded decals is my thing but I don't think we've done a whole lot of seat inserts or upholstery patterns so thanks for the suggestion. -Steve
  11. I'm thinking about doing a stock '64 SS Convertible and or a'65 Coupe SS (non Z-16) as follow up items but those would be down the line somewhere. -Steve
  12. The original MPC Shelby Charger kit 1-0824 with the Blue car on the box was molded in Blue. MPC987 will be molded in white. -Steve
  13. The '71 Dodge Demon kits are in production right now and should be shipping next week. Chad will probably show it in his next video along with the others Rob just mentioned. -Steve
  14. Most of the changes were concentrated on improving the body where the original MPC design fell short. However, there other improvements besides the engine bay, like the front exhaust pipes are now separate parts, added inside and outside mirrors, clear headlamp and backup lenses. The interior is relatively unchanged except for seat backs and steering column molded separately, Other modern touches include pad printed white letter tires and an expanded decal sheet. I have to give a shout-out to Sean Svendsen for his beautiful new vintage style illustrations used on the box art to complete the period look we were after. -Steve
  15. This kit will be MPC1001, looks like it's in production now and should ship by the end of the month. It's based on the Blue Max Mustang Funny Car with the Halibrand front wheels last issued as MPC930. Besides new box art and decals I believe they added a pad print to the slicks. -Steve
  16. I happen to be looking into doing exactly that, I can't promise yet but I'm optimistic about my chances of getting it done. -Steve
  17. I'm going to have some first half '24 items on display at the upcoming DAAM show next month but you'll have to wait and see what those are. -Steve
  18. There's another part the attaches to left fender apron in front of the of the shock tower, if you test fit it, you'll see it that gap is covered and not visible when it's finished. -Steve
  19. All the Police equipment included in the kit were modeled after equipment shown on either the official 2021 Dodge Pursuit Demo, in service current generation Charger Patrol Cars or shown in equipment catalogs that were current at the time of development. Spotlight handles would have also required A pillar trim to attach them to, things like mast antennas and microphone cords are too fragile to mold in scale and are easy to make with common detailing materials. There were also limitations on how many total parts I could have, considering there a still an unannounced third version coming. -Steve
  20. The 64 Malibu is all fresh tooling, shares no parts other than the tires from the '65 GTO Hardtop as both are from the same design team so it should be a very easy build. -Steve
  21. If we were to do a wagon version, I agree this would be the way to go which could share parts with a '64 El Camino. We'll have wait and see how well the Malibu SS does. -Steve
  22. Right but the '53 oil bath air cleaner is similar in size and shape to the '60 292 oil bath air cleaner. Not an exact match but passable. I think one of the Moebius Ford Pickups has oil bath style air cleaner too.
  23. You could probably use just the center carb and the air cleaner from the AMT 53 Ford Pickup on the existing intake and it would be passable. The real trick is the exhaust manifolds which uses a front engine crossover. I thought pretty hard about re-doing the engine to make an accurate 292 V8 for it but the more I looked at it the more I realized I would probably have to start from scratch on the engine and then revise the chassis to single exhaust, etc. Just not in the budget to do all that on top all the other improvements. -Steve
  24. Yes, the Dodge Warlock was the hinted at announcement. The '64 Chevelle Malibu SS is similar in content to the recent '65 GTO but with even more separate parts. Clear headlamps, turn and backup lamps. Grille and front bumper separated. Choice of tri-bar or wire hubcaps with spinners. Separate firewall and radiator support. -Steve
  25. The optional Street appearance wheels match this car as well as the optional lightbar although it's not molded in color. -Steve
