  1. I'm in need of replacing my rotary tool. I had a Dremel, a Black and Decker(which is no longer made.... and a Dremel cordless. Any suggestions as to what model to look for? Thanks, Mike
  2. Anyone have any first hand experience with Round Two's parts replacements? I bought a Dodge Sport that is a short shot on the rear. Should I go traveling store to store to get a replacement or does Round Two have a decent mail order service like Revell? Mike
  3. I've been to three Michael's in the past month. The closest one has a fair selection of AMT and Revell kits. Typically a quarter behind the LHS as a previous post mentioned. The other two had fairly reduced selections of rather boring kits that were a couple of years old. While I'd like to support my local hobby shops, one is all but closed, the other is RC only and the nearest full line shop is half an hour away. Not a great choice, but the most practical choice.
  4. I'm wanting to do the Kelly Chadwick Vega from 1971 or 1972. Here's a link to it: http://www.photoblat.com/jimheller/chadwick-7002-p.jpg I know the injector/blower hat will need to be scratch built. I figure between the BBC and the Revell kit, I should have a close match. I haven't been able to find much on the motor.
  5. With the recent Round 2 re-release of the old MPC 1975 Dodge Sport, my mind has turned to pro stock in trying to restart the hobby. Here's my list of possibler cars: Dick Landy-Slixx has done decals Rod Shop-I can't find correct decals. The Red Nationwide is an issue Soapy Sales Billy The Kid Stepp- Maybe Chuck (Rat Nasty) has them. Don Carlton (Slixx's call it a Plymouth although I've seen pictures with Dodge in the decals) Any I'm missing? Any other good sources? There are many more Plymouth possibilities but decals would be an issue. Thanks, Mike
  6. What kit did you get the wheels an tires from? Mike
  7. I wonder what kit that's from? Seems buying the kit would be cheaper and I'd have some parts left over.
  8. Unfortunately, I no longer have my parts box. All I have access to is what I buy. I'm thinking of the Revell Vega funny car that has the blower but lacks a lot of necessaries needed for a BBC like the proper front plate.
  9. Is there any kits currently available or from the last few years that has a GOOD blown Chevy in it? I'd like to do a funny car which ran a BBC. Thanks, Mike
  10. I remember racing one of those 914-6s in my MG-B. At least we were on the starting line together. I didn't see much more of him.
  11. In the same vein take a look at this work in progress: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=52203&page=3&hl=corvette#entry978260
  12. It looks like you made significant modifications to the chassis to make it accurate. Rarely do most modelers do that. Looks the part. Which is high praise. Mike
  13. Looks great. I have seen this blob before and passed on it as unsaveable. You look to be off to a great start. AMT really missed the boat on their funny car bodies. The Vega was a stock body (even though AMT never had a stock Vega), their Mustang II was too tall, their Satelite (the MoPower car) is just strange. I don't know about the Vette or their Monza but I wouldn't hold out hope for them.
  14. I absolutely love the first car posted. Seemed like a very logical predecessor to the last generation Mustang. I'm not complaining about the 2015, but this version seems to scream brutal performance to me.
  15. The Uncertain T was a classic in its day. I think it would be wonderful if it was reissued although I think prior to that Monogram would have to examine the original contract to figure out who owned the design and the intellectual property of the name. If the rights were signed over for the use of model kits, I see this kit being recreated and reissued. If not, or the original contract can not be found, this kit WILL NEVER be reissued. Just too much baggage to deal with.
  16. THANKS......worst thing is until a few months ago when I lost most of my parts boxes, I could have dug out everything on your list except the motor. At least I know what to start looking for.
  17. Hitherto Garliys kits is one of the first three kits I built (the others were Dyno's Cougar FC and the Candies and Hughes Cuda). Until recent issues I had an original boxed kit in my display case. The original issue had the frame diagonal, the iron on wrapped around the instructions and the chrome sorta bent in the middle to fit the kit box. As for the Cosmic Charger, Carl Casper has shown it at the Louisville Show. It is an absolutely stunning piece of art.
  18. Okay.....a build up I remember. If you were to recreate it today, what parts would you use that are fairly easy to obtain?
  19. It would be neat to have these well cast to go with the reissue. Seems like a kit I should build......of course that's the way it is with most of them.
  20. Then the question is how well did you remove the oven cleaner? That could be your problem.
  21. I've been rather involved in other issues and just had a chance to go through this build. VERYYYYY nice. Hopefully, someday soon I'll be able to return to the hobby.
  22. I now have a "nice" car. I hope that I never think I'm so special I take two spaces as close to the door as possible. Sorry to disappoint but the Corvette needs a ticket as much as the jeep. Of course, I'd prefer the jeep parking across the two spaces behind the Vette.
  23. Thanks for the suggestions..... My insurance adjuster is fine with me using eBay as a price guide.
  24. They're really a mixed collection. Some are rather rare (Bronson Harley, Mannix car) while some are Nascar T-birds. I wish I had been able to make a good list of each and every kit but when you're sorting through a hundred kits, you don't have time. You take your best shot and hope its fair.
  25. For insurance purposes I need a reasonable price for various bagged kits. What's a fair price per bagged kit? Some of these are common while others date to the late 60's. Thanks, Mike
