  1. Hopefully this is another kit on the radar to be reissued.

  3. PDP decals were top of the line.....maybe the best quality drag decals produced. I'd put their stuff a notch above Slixx and better than 90% of the best Alps decals.
  4. Shucks......
  5. Not to high jack but Round 2 is reissuing the Candies and Hughes Cuda? Is the Polar Lights car with different decals or the MPC mold? I ask as this and the Garlits rail were my first two kits I built. I know the Garlits rail was reissued but have yet been able to find one to buy.
  6. VERRRRRY Nice.
  7. I have such mixed feelings about the white Rod Shop Colt. I had about a half hour conversation with Don at the Sportsnationals that year. NHRA booted his entry because he didn't have enough division points. He showed me a lot of the features of the car. Then that summer........ I don't know if I'd want a model of the white car in celebration of that May day or not.... Having said that, I'd love to have a good resin car for a Sox and Martin or Billy the Kid car. (edited to add the comma.)
  8. There's a title I thought was gone. After Source Interlink killed several of their titles, I expected it to also be discontinued. Based upon comments of one of its freelancers, it was supposed to be printed this past fall. I doubt it will be reprinted. As for Hot Rod Deluxe having too much reprint material, some may consider that a negative while others a positive. Finally considering the Magic Muffler Fiat.....the restorer claims to have bought the rights to the name for the Magic Muffler chain. He was upset with the inaccuracy of the GMP diecast of this car. I asked about decals for the car and the response was at best very negative. If I had a printer, I'd create the artwork......There is an abundance of resources available on-line.
  9. I've often thought of the same thing.....if you're looking for running gear how about a Revell midget as a donor?
  10. I have been told he is. There has been a fury of Fremont decals offered recently on an auction site. I have not seen any resin but am hopeful. Joe made good stuff.
  11. I took the easy way out.....I returned it to the store (Hobby Lobby) and exchanged it for a sealed kit. Planned on making it a Billy the Kid pro stocker but am now finding it difficult to find decals.
  12. This kit cries out to be mixed with the AMT Nascar Fords.....
  13. How far is this from the Hemi Under Glass that was reissued a few years ago?
  14. I'm in need of replacing my rotary tool. I had a Dremel, a Black and Decker(which is no longer made.... and a Dremel cordless. Any suggestions as to what model to look for? Thanks, Mike
  15. Anyone have any first hand experience with Round Two's parts replacements? I bought a Dodge Sport that is a short shot on the rear. Should I go traveling store to store to get a replacement or does Round Two have a decent mail order service like Revell? Mike
  16. I've been to three Michael's in the past month. The closest one has a fair selection of AMT and Revell kits. Typically a quarter behind the LHS as a previous post mentioned. The other two had fairly reduced selections of rather boring kits that were a couple of years old. While I'd like to support my local hobby shops, one is all but closed, the other is RC only and the nearest full line shop is half an hour away. Not a great choice, but the most practical choice.
  17. I'm wanting to do the Kelly Chadwick Vega from 1971 or 1972. Here's a link to it: http://www.photoblat.com/jimheller/chadwick-7002-p.jpg I know the injector/blower hat will need to be scratch built. I figure between the BBC and the Revell kit, I should have a close match. I haven't been able to find much on the motor.
  18. With the recent Round 2 re-release of the old MPC 1975 Dodge Sport, my mind has turned to pro stock in trying to restart the hobby. Here's my list of possibler cars: Dick Landy-Slixx has done decals Rod Shop-I can't find correct decals. The Red Nationwide is an issue Soapy Sales Billy The Kid Stepp- Maybe Chuck (Rat Nasty) has them. Don Carlton (Slixx's call it a Plymouth although I've seen pictures with Dodge in the decals) Any I'm missing? Any other good sources? There are many more Plymouth possibilities but decals would be an issue. Thanks, Mike
  19. What kit did you get the wheels an tires from? Mike
  20. I wonder what kit that's from? Seems buying the kit would be cheaper and I'd have some parts left over.
  21. Unfortunately, I no longer have my parts box. All I have access to is what I buy. I'm thinking of the Revell Vega funny car that has the blower but lacks a lot of necessaries needed for a BBC like the proper front plate.
  22. Is there any kits currently available or from the last few years that has a GOOD blown Chevy in it? I'd like to do a funny car which ran a BBC. Thanks, Mike
  23. I remember racing one of those 914-6s in my MG-B. At least we were on the starting line together. I didn't see much more of him.
  24. In the same vein take a look at this work in progress: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=52203&page=3&hl=corvette#entry978260
  25. It looks like you made significant modifications to the chassis to make it accurate. Rarely do most modelers do that. Looks the part. Which is high praise. Mike
