  1. After spending a bunch of time on a 1971 Motown Missile 'Cuda including several hours of getting the chassis right, I'm ready to start over. Mercy that chassis looks good. Wonder how close that 1970 body is to the '71? So when is this going to be available?
  2. I never expected to see this car modeled. VERY NICE! For safe keeping, may I suggest you box it and send it to West Virginia? I'll pm you a safe address. Mike
  3. Very nice..... They look the part of the originals.
  4. Actually I think the crinkled glass was intentional. The cars had no interior. This could have been done to hide that. It is interesting to note these are mainly Jo-Han promos that had this effect. I have had some and the outside of the glass was perfect therefore my belief it was intentional. I can post pictures if desired.
  5. I'd be ashamed I'd driven any of those yet alone all three. Hmmmmm. A fish bowl with lack lauster air conditioning, A Vega with a new body or a girl that a girlfriend had that had not one but four bolts drop out of the main bearings over a one year period. All were BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH but I do remember one Chevette with a Chevy II four banger that was a kicker dirt track racer.
  6. I've got a Revival Ferrari and can only dream it will look as good as yours when finished. I know it has body issues which has really stopped my from trying to work on it. Your work is inspiring as to the possibilities.
  7. I remember Tom West, the designer of the Aurora kits bemoaning the kit bodies. One of them, I believe the Pinto won't sit on the kit chassis without major work. As for price, if I remember the prices correctly the Revell kits sold for about 2/3rds the price of the Aurora kits and the Revell kits were name cars. I do remember these being blown out at several non hobby shops. When I think about that and the K-Mart Pochers, I do want to kick myself.
  8. If you were to merge the nose of the black one with everything else of the white car is the best option in my humble opinion.
  9. Yep that's Revell.....as for the comments on the bodies. We can dream.....Camaro, Cuda would be my first two choices.
  10. What's the latest issue on the news stand? Also can you tell me what's on the cover? My nearest dealer is a bit of a drive for me and I'll only go to pick it up. Thanks, Mike
  11. Looks like the typical MPC dragster slick, rounded corners with the embossed Goodyear removed. Close?
  12. Scratch built blower hat......very impressive.
  13. I'd send Ronnie an email and ask. my dealings have always been good with him.
  14. The Dodge Colt wheelbase was too short for NHRA to run with the hemi. I believe they could have run with a small block but Chrysler didn't have an engine that would produce the same horsepower per cubic inch as either the Ford Cleveland 351 or the small block Chevy.
  15. Don was driving a Rod Shop car. I'm pretty sure it was the long wheelbase car that was featured in Car Craft. It was an altered and featured a wind shield that cam out when you removed the hood.
  16. Any history on the car? I know Don Carlton was running under the Rod Shop banner with a Colt. This is a car I've never seen.
  17. Pretty much the same. Different rear ends and injectors. Beyond that, pretty much identical.
  18. Very nice.....I wish we were still in the era where you could build something like this, be competitive, have fun and not go broke.......
  19. Dave: I'd love to see the test shots of the AM Taurus. I've heard of them for years but believed they were always wishful thinking.
  20. It has some interesting lines....not good lines.....just interesting.
  21. I've found these built up on the auction site. How hard are they to disassemble? Mike
  22. This is a great build up. I remember Hot Rod used to feature engines on their cover. This looks like it was pulled from their cover. GREAT job! I have the 426 version of this engine in the series. I haven't started it but plan to soon. Your effort is so nice......I really want this engine. Mike
