As a father of a fourteen year old boy, you don't know how much I'd love him to give me a model of a car I loved. It'd beat the heck out of anything I can think of.

A bit of good news...... Hello, guys. I'm proud to announce that Gasser Madness has returned. Here is what I've written on the front page of www.gassermadness.us We lost our friend Byron Stack a little over a year ago, but his work -- Gasser Madness -- lives on. The site files took quite a beating during a computer crash at the Draglist offices a few months ago, but we have found most of them and are going to try to recreate the rest. Bear with us as we try to patch this beast back together to make the next round. Thanks to all of Byron's friends for the encouragement and thanks to Byron's family for asking us to bring the site back. Once we get 'er up and stabilized, we will begin looking for contributions for new material. I know there still are a lot of broken links... we will get 'em fixed if we can. Thanks again and RIP Byron... we got this on your behalf and it won't be fading away... As noted, some files were lost in the transition, but I have a link to the older sites from the 'Wayback Machine' and will commence recreating those. I would say we are 70 to 80 percent back, if not more. Please tell all your friends far and wide that the site URL is now gassermadness.us as gassermadness.com was snatched by a Russian Trucking Company. Just had an ongoing conversation with Michigan Madman, Chuck Most. He asked if I'd received his end of the trade and explained his policy is to never do anything with what he receives until the other party is happy with what they receive. Seems like a good way to ensure mutual satisfaction. Mike

I remember that kit.....a bit of creative marketing. There really isn't much to say good about it. Seems like your solution is by far the best. What is amazing is that this would be a high dollar kit.

Mental illness. Seriously, I suffered building during the Pac Man era of video games. You could have anything you wanted as long as it was a Corvette, Firebird, Camaro or Mustang. I remember driving sixty miles on the hopes of finding a Monogram Stock car and being thrilled to find a PRO STOCKER! This was before the internet days and you might find advance notice in the one magazine that served the hobby that was pretty good then (hasn't been for at least ten years). No seriously.....mental illness.

Just noticed the radiator......great touch on a great model.

As soon as I'm not regularly driving with two kids in my car I will have either a Soltice/Sky or a Chrysler Crossfire. Great cars killed by a poor economy and poor marketing. Proof of that is is the success of the Toyota/Subaru. Same basic concept without the benefit of a removable top but having good marketing behind it.

The red version of the Charlie Allen car is (was) available from Slixx. I've never seen decals for the Snow car.

SWEEEEEEEETTTTT!!!! I think I'm good at body work but wouldn't have the ability to pull this off. I doubt if 99% of the other model builders could either.

Guess a qualification is required. This is the same body as the later white Bounty Hunter, ugly light blue Blue Max and the Vel's funny car. I forgot about both the earlier Bounty Hunter and the Blue Max.

If its the same kits as was originally issued it is the same kit that was the Blue Max, Bounty Hunter, that was the Vel's Parnelli Jones. 95% of it is generic between those kits. The wheels and injectors may be different and some may or may not have open parachutes.

Both models are absolutely amazing. It is so easy to ignore diecast but those results can't be argrued with.

The two tones were typically done by Chrysler as part of their Dream Cruiser series. They had some great colors in it. I have a convertible which is black. Cool convertible colors are rare. I've seen a couple of blues and a candy purple. I'd love to have the purple. If you buy one only get a GT. If you plan on hammering it, get a five speed. Properly modified, it can stay up with most cars until 85-90 then aerodynamics kick in.

If only my 1:1 looked so nice!

Here's what I know....... Ron Cash passed away several years ago. His wife sold his remaining inventory on _bay a couple of years ago. He was from the Cleveland area. Maybe someone in that area has the masters. By this time any molds would have aged to the point of being useless. Fremont Resin's (who made some great drag racing stuff) more than likely went to Reliable Resin. The owner of that outfit swore to me he had the artwork for Fremont's decals and has offered a few of Fremont's resin products. I have not talked to Joe Curtis (I believe that was Fremont's owner) to confirm this. The point is there are several resin casters we don't support like we should......Maybe we need to wake up and place some orders.

I'm looking forward to seeing this one go forward.

Did you stretch this for the Monogram chassis or does it use the MPC? Mike

I have one of his first casts of this kit. VERY NICE. As far as Chuck being a good guy to deal with, unless something has changed in the recent past, Chuck is a SUPER guy to deal with.

One of the first models I built was the MPC issue of the 70-71 Candies and Hughes Cuda. I absolutely love this build! It brings back a lot of memories. Mike

Street roadsters had an interesting history. The true street roadster class required full street equipment (full fenders and lights) throughout the classes existence. The class bounced between Altered eliminator and Modified eliminator up into the mid 70's. The Gary Burgin car was an example of this as well as the Flashback model. The Bilby, Densham, Plueger actually ran as a gasser in the late sixties. Gasser rules were very flexible at this time in an attempt to save the class. Many circuits ran cars called gassers that were far from being NHRA legal. This was the era of the Mustang gassers and the flip top Willys.

I'm in awe. I could guess where it came from because I had no other possibilities. VERY nice.
